Too predictable. The least expected thing will happen. |
Greg? Tanya's husband? I would not be surprised to find out he was a nasty character because he's already pretty awful. It is weird that he just left but now I assume he comes back? OMG what if Greg paid the group of gays to murder Tanya so he could inherit her money, and him leaving early was just to give himself an alibi? And Greg told them that all Tanya wants is just constant praise and validation, also told them to bring along a young guy for Portia to get her out of the way? That sounds a little fanciful for White Lotus but I guess you never know. Lots of shows do weird things in their second season. |

Mark White has a vendetta with the nice guys don’t get girls plot. Is it personal?
I have seen plenty of Albie, who gets married in mid 20s, and have 2-3 kids, ascend corporate ladder and be extremely well off. It’s the Essex dude who can get a few women and then he will be shopping for viagra at 40. By then no one wants him. |
But-- didnt' we see Portia tell girls in the first episode that she'd had a great week? Doubt she'd say that if her husband had been murdered. I think more likely, she and Cameron will end up fine...because careless people like them usually do. Harper and Ethan will break up. |
| I think the killer will be the grandpa |
What do you mean he has a "vendetta"? It wasn't a theme in Season 1 and I don't remember it being a thing on Enlightened? I do not get the sense that the show, or Mike White himself, is somehow rooting for Portia to reject Albie to hang out with the Essex guy, or that he's trying to say "nice guys can't win!" I think this plot line is being used both to say something about attraction (and how we don't always find ourselves attracted to the people we like, and also that broken people are often attracted to the wrong people because that's part of being broken) as well as to propel characters in certain directions. Portia's interest in the Essex guy might take her to Palermo, Albie's tryst with Lucia creates drama in the Albie-Dom relationship. I don't think the show is trying to say that Albie won't wind up rich and married with kids, it's pretty obvious that's what Albie's future is going to be regardless of what happens on this trip, unless he's one of the bodies in the water at the end of the season. |
Uh, no. Mike White is gay. |
Yes, I agree both couples might end up fine. It’s might be the least expected development and the least expected will come out of the family of “like father like father like son” .My take on it

Really? I see a lot of posts by people who just like to hear themselves talk. |
I assume you mean Daphne, not Portia. I don't think Daphne was being honest in that opening scene. The whole thing was a bit off. She seemed to get the girls attention so that she could talk to them (establishing an alibi maybe?) and her comments about having a great week are already suspect because we know for a fact that she and her husband got into a fight, she went and got high in Noto with a woman who doesn't like her very much, and her husband stayed behind and got wasted and had sex with a couple of prostitutes. Even if the hotel is amazing, she did not have a "great week." She had a weird one. |

Hey, I'm not posting three or four paragraphs about what I think is going to happen. |
Why not? That's kind of the point of a thread like this. I mean, we could all come here and just report our opinion of the show, but a thread full of "It seems okay but I was disappointed in the third episode. Will probably watch the rest because my DH likes it." or "Theo James is soooooo hot, I hope they don't kill off his character" gets stale fast. |

I agree with this. I didn't think Daphne was really feeling what she was saying. Also, maybe she doesn't know Cameron is dead at that point. Maybe his body is the one she finds? |
