Taylor Swift is awful (and her music isn't even very good)

Having said that, her entire song/image/tour is a vibe and a positive one. Her concerts are an experience that, from the MANY people I know who have gone to them many times over, are fun, positive, empowering. Their words not mine. And she's making hand over fist for a positive experience. What's not to like and admire? It's the same for Jimmy Buffett when he was alive. He had his niche, knew what it was, and gave his fans what they wanted.

I also love to see women succeed. So I love to see her doing well. (and encouraging the Get Out The Vote).

I saw the Eras movie today with my preteen daughter who loves to dance and several of her dance friends. I completely agree that the experience, at least from the movie, was incredibly uplifting and positive. I think her crew is excellent and it seems she looks out for them. It was a joyful musical experience for us so I’m grateful. I’m not qualified to opine on whether she’s an especially talented musician so I won’t try.

+1! All people want is a positive experience, and Taylor is giving that to them. If haters could do the same, they'd also make money hand over fist.

If you don't have a great voice that's going to be obvious. Even great singers can sound meh at the superbowl. She just has an ok voice.

I'm not a fan but never hated her. The article I read about how she uses her relationships to sell records made me dislike her. I am not maga. She is manipulative and wrote and released songs that she knew her crazy fans would assume were about guys who she'd had relationships with. The article had a timeline and it was very manipulative. She can write songs about her failed relationships but don't try to send your crazy fans after guys who just didn't want to be with her forever. She has a lot of power and using it for petty infights and constantly going after men she's dated or been in relationships with is pathetic.

You are not alone! The more I see her, the uglier she gets to me. It’s getting to the point where I feel nauseous looking at her, inadvertently of course, when I’m just trying to read up on current events. I really hate her beady eyes and the way she always opens her mouth wide. She looks like a hyena about to pounce. (I hate the god awful red lipstick she wears, too.)

And that’s not even taking into account her terrible, bland music. YUCK!

How tragic that this worldwide star has such a detrimental effect on your fragile mental health.

How tragic that you adore a person who doesn’t know you’re alive. (You: “She peeked into my soul! It’s like her lyrics are about me!”)

Your obsession is so great that you can’t process the fact that MANY, MANY others don’t share your fanaticism. In fact, you need to resort to insults to unseen strangers who dare not LOVE “your girl, Taylor.”

Who here has the mental health problem?

I am actually a fan but kind of agree with this. I felt bad for Jake Gyllenhaal after the release of All Too Well 10-min version. He didn’t seem like a bad guy, just a casual dater whereas she was taking a short relationship way too seriously.

Oh, honey. I’m 65 years old. I’m all about Bruce Springsteen.

Your fraught post is just so hilarious that it deserves to be called out.

He’s a big boy. I mean, wasn’t he much older than her when they dated? And it’s 2023 and he’s still single and childless, right? How’s his career going?

I think he isn’t a great guy and Hollywood knows that.

Good for her for calling him out! Male celebs have been using and abusing young women for nearly 100 years.

Jake is TERRIBLE. Did he deserve the Taylor treatment? I don’t know but he is not a good guy and it’s widely known. There’s definitely a reason his career is faltering, despite being a nepo baby.
