The Trump women and their fashion mishaps thread

Yes, I think her situation is showing on her face now. And I’m not talking pregnancy. There’s only so much despair and worry that fillers can cover, but around her eyes she is still a crinkly, wrinkly disaster.

The coat doesn’t fit and there’s too much dress at the bottom but I like the red white and black together. She does make everything so weird though.

Her face looks to me like she’s on steroids. If she’s having a health issue and needs steroids, then I feel bad criticizing her about it. If she’s paying someone to make her face look like that, then I just don’t know what to say. I guess we’ll never know. But it does make her look a lot more like her mom!

Because she mistakenly thinks she is a modern day Jackie Kennedy and the Trump presidency is the second coming on Camelot.

She’s modern Orthodox (at least in theory...). You will see the hat thing on women going to shut. They don’t cover their hair with wigs or full caps typically like Hasidic women,

I think this is correct. (That she believes that.)

How is that coat fastened? It looks like a dress.

I think she needs it at least a half size bigger.

Ivanka posted for her sister (Tiffany's) birthday. So, interesting (is that the word?) she chose this particular pic.

I think it’s fabulous and artistic.

I agree with you but not for the reasons I'm sure you're thinking.

The composition highlights the difference and disconnect between the two figures. At a quick glance, this is what I see:

The women is mature and in a fancy, black dress - the traditional color of mourning or seduction. The child is young, nearly naked and depicted in a style associated with innocence and love.
There appears to be no relationship between the woman and child. It's as if the child were photoshopped into it. There's no warmth, no connection between the two.
The woman is leaning one way, the child another. Again, this emphasizes their distance and lack of relationship
Even the woman's hand on the child's thigh, with it's splayed straight fingers, indicates no possession or care of the child. There is nothing keeping the child from sliding off the couch - the child isn't even sitting on her lap.
The coloring and position of the child indicates she's part of the furniture/decor. She blends into the background. She's an afterthought, a prop. The focus is on the main figure in black.
The child is sucking on a bottle from which no milk could flow with a vacant, distant look in her eyes. She is alone an isolated even though she is surrounded by a woman.

For me, the photo epitomizes the selfishness of Ivanka and how the Trump family treats Tiffany. So, yes, it is fabulous and artistic.

Your analysis is excellent. I would like to add that both Ivanka and Tiffany are presented as objects. Ivanka is arranged in half sleep and half naked. Her breasts are partially exposed. The viewer is invited to rouse or touch her or invade her space. The baby's legs are open and of course she is undressed.

This is not a snapshot. It is a posed and carefully produced photo. Everything is deliberate.

Ivanka is not half naked and her breasts are not partially exposed. They are fully covered. She is showing a sliver of skin at the belly. And the baby’s legs are not “open”. Do you expect a baby to sit with their legs crossed at the ankle? The baby is fine.

I still think she's pregnant.

That was my thought.

You're so right. This is perfectly normal way for siblings to pose. What was I thinking?

No one is saying it is. PP is pointing out that the baby is sitting in a fairly normal posture for a little kid and that Ivanka’s breasts are not exposed.

Is it just me, or does the red coat have a distinctly Handmaid's Tale vibe to it? Though if she were in the HT, she'd be a wife and the coat would be that green/blue color.

I love this coat. (Second to Pelosi’s coat. Love Max Mara!) I would only have the hem on this let out though.

Very Handmaid's Tale. I guess she's either Ofdonnysmallhands or Ofjaredjailbreak
