He’s out drinking with the boys in London. I’m sure that’s not going to go over well with MM.

If they divorce, will the royals take Harry back?

my prediction - that they last, at the most, five years from now (And I'm being generous with my time frame.)

Jesus if you're going to describe the pics at least look them up first.

It’s Royal protocol— how the family stands on the balcony. There was one event where she was on a completely different balcony because it’s by rank and she could not fit with Queen/Kate/Will/Charles. She looked pitiful.

You mean the photo where she was standing next to Sophie, Countess of Wessex (wife of Prince Edward)? Did she look pitiful too?

Has anyone bothered to realize they are stepping back for two huge reasons? 1. Too much public scrutiny (perfect example in this thread!), especially as concerns their son, who will likely never inherit and 2. they don’t need or want public funding, but could not remain senior royalty without it, as it creates a debt to the UK people and requires patriotism and yet impartiality.

That is today. Last week they didn't step down, they wanted to be half-Royals.

They trademarked Sussex Royal. Why do you think they did that?

Yep, they flubbed their exit terribly and are trying to backpedal now. They need a new PR team stat.

Are there any good Royal sites where people can actually discuss the events or personalities without having to wade through people accusing each other of being crazy or racist. You can tell that there are just a few posters here that make the entire thread miserable. Is there anywhere else more pleasant?

Seriously, people: how can anyone stand him/them anymore?

If karma exists, those two will have a tougher time turning a buck than Fergie. They’ll resort to a series of embarrassing stunts and ultimately come crawling back to the UK in a decade.

It was a fundraiser for a charity HE FOUNDED. He was explaining that he wasn't leaving them or the charity itself, just that he had to step back because life in the UK was untenable. But he'd always support the charity.

And he was also thanking the board of the charity and many of the major benefactors, people that have been a part of the charity since its inception, for their support.

You can try Mumsnet (UK forum) or The Royal Forums.

So will they still show up on the balcony for pictures?

Where are people getting the Instagram and Influencer money making predictions? Has that been announced or is this all speculation?

It was a FUNDRAISER full of rich hob-nobers. He was not addressing the staff or the people who benefit from the charity. Plenty of less self-serving ways to do this. I understand they are under tremendous stress and pressure, but they really need to stop playing this family drama in public.

So to sum it up, privileged, tone-deaf kid throws a public temper tantrum. Granny acquiesces. The Brits are a funny bunch, they pay tens of millions of pounds to a public servant family who can’t help but mix family with business. Don’t get me started on Andrew.

Harry mentioned being influencers several times and the early announcements / statements were released through their instagram page. And the whole point of not receiving royal funding is to make money. That's why they are seeking to be financially independent despite already being very wealthy with a 40+ million fortune. But they can't pursue money making opportunities as long as they were official royals. There are strict rules about it.

When they first made the announcement the language they used was about forging a new role that was half in royal family and half out, "stepping back" was the term, but following the palace meeting, they are firmly out. Because granny and daddy and brother said nope. You can't remain in the royal family in any capacity and chase after money. It's one or the other.

Granny kicked them out of the family but left the door open to return. But granny made it very clear what the rules were and Harry had to pick one or the other (remain full time royals with all the restrictions regarding making money) or not being royal at all but with the freedom to shill himself. So Granny didn't acquiescence. Harry's had to resign from his major charities and patronage and army position.
