Also PG county schools are closed for the week. Fairfax County might as well just call it too.

Reid would never do that - that would make too much sense.

I would be surprised if they open tomorrow. It took my husband, with some help from me but he did the heavy lifting. The better part of 3 hours to cut out the ice on the drive way and side walk to get it to asphalt. The sun should dry out the little bits that are left but some of our neighbor have not touched their sidewalks or driveways. The ice is going to be a no go for walkers and getting to bus stops.

Wednesday might be a 2 hour delay but that would make no sense since it is a early release day any way.

It’s nerve wracking not knowing. We haven’t done that much shoveling yet and don’t want to kill ourselves today doing it all if we aren’t even having school tomorrow. They should announce it asap.

If they delay on an already scheduled early release day, it would end at normal time. To me that is worse case scenario.

I mean they should close but it’s kind of silly to not do any shoveling if you know temps are going to be low. What if you actually had to go somewhere?

Why haven't you done any shoveling yet? Even if you don't have to go anywhere, it's much easier to shovel it fresh than waiting until it all freezes over. This is common sense. I don't think schools should be open, but I can't understand people who are going to whine about bad the driveways and sidewalks are if they couldn't be bothered to touch it until it all became a block of ice.

+1

I’m sure these same people want FCPS to send personal plows out to them while also mad that FCPS has a large budget and expect a customized curriculum for their little snowflake (pun intended).

No I think this is someone who loves the idea of them and their kids getting to sit around at home for days. They want to relish in just how bad it is out there... hence the minimal shoveling thus far... and want the cancellation calls to be early so they can fully enjoy doing nothing. Probably a teacher who doesn't want to go in anytime soon.

Nerve wracking? Just shovel the damn snow. Why? Not because there may or may not be school tomorrow but because this afternoon is the warmest it will be all week.

Also, a blind man can see that there will not be school tomorrow.

Your anxiety speaks volumes about why so many kids are struggling so much in school with mental health issues.
