Please let us know what streets in Fairfax County have not yet seen a snow plow. |
VDOT says it takes them 48 hours after a storm of this size ends to clear one lane on all roads so I am sure there are many neighborhood roads that haven’t been touched. |
| Has anyone been to the grocery store? Are the shelves restocked? |
At least parts of 22101, 22102, 22182. |
Plenty of streets in Belle Haven have not seen a plow. |
| Some kids charged me $70 Sunday around 12 for a long sidewalk, steps, a walkway, and more steps. Today I had them come back for $35 but they refused to complete the job due to lots of Ice and didn't charge any of the $35 and did maybe 1/3 of the job. They then proceeded to do my neighbor completely for FREE!!!(I know this because we are friends, but she is elderly and disabled. I am not disabled but a little old.)Do you think they felt bad that she was disabled and did it for Free? Whose in the wrong? Whose in the right? |
What streets? There are certainly streets in there that have a packed layer of ice, but all that I have seen have gotten at least one pass through with a plow. |
Not sure seems like they did it for the other lady because she's disabled. Ask others |
It is nice they helped your disabled neighbor. You could have offered them more money. It was dramatically harder to shovel today. We broke our shovel. I can see why they decided it was not worth it. |
Grove and Edgewood have not seen a plow. |
Umm clearly you are a complete a** and these children sound like saints! $35 is way too little to pay for what sounds to be a massive amount of work shoveling a long sidewalk, walkway, and two sets of stairs with unprecedented amounts of heavy ice. (I’d imagine that the hourly rate had they completed the task would fallen well below minimum wage). The kids clearly realized they were over their heads/being taken advantage of so made the decision to terminate the job (as is their right to do given that they’re not indentured servants) and apparently didn’t even try to charge you for the portion that they did complete. (Which if you were a decent human being you would have insisted on nevertheless paying for.) Then you have the audacity to complain about them shoveling your disabled neighbor (who presumably is kinder and more in need of help than you) for free. Karma is coming for you. |
I haven't been over there since noon, but at that time Beech Tree Lane, which has an elementary school on it, had not seen a plow. |
People on this site can be really mean. You have to watch yourself because sometimes it can become contagious. |
True you never know. I'm going to the store later this week to re-up on fresh fruit and meat. I don't want to be stuck eating only rice and beans (even though I make a mean vegetarian chili). |
