He thinks Black coaches should be allowed to do whatever they want and if you disagree, you are a racist.

Which is bizarre because no one cares that he's black except his fan club. If a white or purple coach did the same exact thing, it would be just as disgusting and cringe.

If he were white there wouldn’t be a discussion or the response/investigation, and certainly would not be muted. That’s the whole point.

So you are saying fcps white coaches sneak 33 transfer students a year on to their teams and no one says anything?

I’m aware of at least three other NoVa teams this year ranked higher in the state in their sports than the Hayfield football team. The difference is they didn’t import dozens of kids to their catchment areas over the summer to prop up those programs.

Those teams are probably coaches by actual good coaches.

Overton has not demonstrated any ability to actually coach a real public HS team.

Quite ignorant to say this when the proof is literally Freedom Highschool from 2018-2023

This was a high school with open enrollment and it was allegedly a total free for fall. Overton recruited players from his paid AAU team to transfer into Freedom. Many kids didn't even live within PWC boundaries.

When has he had a winning record by being the head coach for the kids at a public school who just showed up to play? No nephews or tag-alongs? Just normal coaching like 99% of his fellow public school coaches do?

Don’t know any Black ones that did. I think 15 newly enrolled kids at Hayfield wanted to play football and Overton didn’t register then.

The lies and rumors just get bigger as the white supremacists, white supremacist supporters, and haters talk about Overton.

Guess you guys can keep hating for about 2 more months. He will have the state championship trophy then and the season will done. Then I guess you can continue hating on him again next September.

Your post is not coherent but you seem to be saying that *only* (LOL) 15 kids transferred in to Hayfield to play football this school year and not 33 (a number widely reported).

Where is the list of players who transferred in so we can check your claim? *BTW, 15 is completely absurd as well.*

There is no discussion about the white ones that do it. Martinsburg, Quince Orchard, Madison, Battlefield, Patriot, etc, all get kids who come to the school because the want to be part of the football program. Those schools have done it for years.

It’s okay for them to build powerhouses. Overton builds a powerhouse, we keep getting these witch hunts and media headlines discussing false allegations, the school systems do investigations finding the program to be in compliance, and then we still get the slanderous posts in online forums.

What we see here is a great example of the system of white supremacy.

None of those schools are in FCPS. FCPS parents don’t want this kind of cheating in HS sports. It’s horrible for all of the other kids at Freedom and elsewhere. FCPS is failing by not disciplining the principal, coach and his hangers on.

Madison is FCPS. The other schools are local examples of the same thing happening where there is no outrage. If these coaches were in FCPS, there would be no discussion. Like Madison, they’d just be schools with good football programs. Their coaches have the complexion for the protection.

Where is the information on the Madison HS football coach cheating and bringing in dozens of transfers this school year? I missed that news article.

The number 15 comes directly from FCPS administration. 33 may be widely reported by white supremacists slandering and wanting to bring down the program, but I think I’ll take the word of school officials over theirs.

This is the stupidest take. The non-FCPS schools you list are operating under different transfer rules. The only relevant comparisons are other FCPS HS.

Where was the number 15 reported?

How many ineligible players who were removed from the Hayfield roster right before the first game are still sitting out? It was around 8 or 9 originally.

I doubt the news media is going to publish any article exposing how a white coach at Madison could be bending the rules to get an advantage for his athletic team. Nor will we see a bunch of rumors and slanderous lies about a white coach on DCUM, like we are seeing with Overton.

Except that’s not what any of the Freedom/Hayfield parents, coaches, and hanger-ons think. Watch the YouTube videos and their social media. Overtons posts - disrespect won’t be tolerated, hayfieldby40, ball is life, etc.

Assembling this team of Potomac Mills all-stars is some kind of vicarious life achievement.

It’s Overton’s career. He should be passionate about it and using social media.

Overton will be named Coach of the Year in Virginia and in the Washington Post if he wins the championship. And that’s very likely.

Okay. So we agree that it is not “just a game” to Overton. I suspect he will be at an underperforming WCAC within the next 3-5 years once FCPS gets tired of the recruiting and shady fundraising. DJO would probably take him.

Probably taking extra precautions. With all the negative press and hate he was getting, the coach probably did his own investigation or made kids jump through extra hoops so nothing could be used as ammunition to allow the white supremacists to block his program from winning the championship. His kids worked too hard. I’m sure it’s important to them and the Hayfield community to let the haters come in and mess this up. This will be Hayfields first state football championship.

It’s not "just a game” to any decent coach. They put blood, sweat, and tears into this.

John Paul should be courting him.

Is DJO Oconell HS? They are not a foootball school and don’t even have a lighted field, so I doubt they would want him. Aren’t they a basketball power? They recruit heavily for that program.

Yeah, but they are in the WCAC. They could step it up and try to become a national powerhouse similar to Dematha, Gonzaga, McNamara, Good Counsel, and St Johns.
