Hayfield Football Coach Fired

He thinks Black coaches should be allowed to do whatever they want and if you disagree, you are a racist.

Which is bizarre because no one cares that he's black except his fan club. If a white or purple coach did the same exact thing, it would be just as disgusting and cringe.

If he were white there wouldn’t be a discussion or the response/investigation, and certainly would not be muted. That’s the whole point.

They lost, so it seems like a reasonable matchup. Not sure what TJs football
team has to do with Overtons's cheating.

Overton fan club president is just trying to distract from Hayfield's revolting situation.

Potomac Mills Elite needs football a lot more than a kid at TJ does, especially of you have the kind of parents who are willing to let you be part of a cheating team because it's your only route to college. Hopefully everyone gets the future they deserve.

TJ's integrity is just fine.

Hayfield Coach and program is a joke and everyone--including coaches of real teams--is laughing at his tiny little ego.

Yep!

No other football program in FCPS is anywhere near as trashy and problematic as Hayfield/Overton. It’s really an embarrassment to the whole Hayfield community and FCPS that this gross behavior was permitted. (Let alone all the issues with the drugs and thieves and nutjobs in the skeazy entourage.)

Not even Langley? They started with a predator head coach and there are recruiting rumors about them too.

All the Hayfield coach has done is attracted talented football players, won games, and is helping gets get collegiate football scholarships.

There is no more gross behavior than that of the Langley Coach and things that have been going on with the Langley staff the last few months. Why so much vitriol for Hayfield?

OP here. It’s clear. One is a case of sexual misconduct, another if a Black coach helping Black kids go to college. He’s guilty, guilidy, guilty. For being Black, and challenging whites.

Do you know how most kids get to college? I doubt you ride this hard for literacy.

So you are saying fcps white coaches sneak 33 transfer students a year on to their teams and no one says anything?

I’m aware of at least three other NoVa teams this year ranked higher in the state in their sports than the Hayfield football team. The difference is they didn’t import dozens of kids to their catchment areas over the summer to prop up those programs.

Those teams are probably coaches by actual good coaches.

Overton has not demonstrated any ability to actually coach a real public HS team.

Quite ignorant to say this when the proof is literally Freedom Highschool from 2018-2023

The reason those teams are ranked higher on Max preps is because they had better records than Hayfield last year. Max preps still has Freedom ranked high because of what Overton did last year and they are doing terrible. Winning streak that expands multiple years is factored into those rankings.

Any northern Virginia team ranked higher than Hayfield would likely get slaughtered if hav to actually play them.

PP was referring to sports other than football. Reading is fundamental.

Don’t know any Black ones that did. I think 15 newly enrolled kids at Hayfield wanted to play football and Overton didn’t register then.

The lies and rumors just get bigger as the white supremacists, white supremacist supporters, and haters talk about Overton.

Guess you guys can keep hating for about 2 more months. He will have the state championship trophy then and the season will done. Then I guess you can continue hating on him again next September.

Except that’s not what any of the Freedom/Hayfield parents, coaches, and hanger-ons think. Watch the YouTube videos and their social media. Overtons posts - disrespect won’t be tolerated, hayfieldby40, ball is life, etc.

Assembling this team of Potomac Mills all-stars is some kind of vicarious life achievement.

It’s Overton’s career. He should be passionate about it and using social media.

Overton will be named Coach of the Year in Virginia and in the Washington Post if he wins the championship. And that’s very likely.

There is no discussion about the white ones that do it. Martinsburg, Quince Orchard, Madison, Battlefield, Patriot, etc, all get kids who come to the school because the want to be part of the football program. Those schools have done it for years.

It’s okay for them to build powerhouses. Overton builds a powerhouse, we keep getting these witch hunts and media headlines discussing false allegations, the school systems do investigations finding the program to be in compliance, and then we still get the slanderous posts in online forums.

What we see here is a great example of the system of white supremacy.

None of those schools are in FCPS. FCPS parents don’t want this kind of cheating in HS sports. It’s horrible for all of the other kids at Freedom and elsewhere. FCPS is failing by not disciplining the principal, coach and his hangers on.

Why do you keep bringing up schools that are not in FCPS? Every county has different rules about transferring and HS attendance.

In FCPS, options for legit transfers are limited. You don't see traveling circuses like this for that reason. FCPS families expect extracurricular activities to be available for students who are legitimately attending that school (because they can't just transfer out to somewhere else--a kid who goes to Hayfield and wants to play football can't simply decide he doesn't like the Overton s-show and head on over to Edison. He's stuck at Hayfield.)
