Vance appeals to a very narrow group of constantly online , white nationalist, women hating dudes. They are really bad. He is getting at the replacement theory fear that white nationalists hold. The white population is declining while the number of non white immigrants is increasing. This is why the white nationalists are so anti- woman. They want the white woman to be forced to marry them and knock out many kids to increase the white population. It’s gross.

I didn't see the statement or the clip, but that's basic Great Replacement Theory stuff. Which is very interesting since his own children have immigrant grandparents. I realize that he might think, or even believe, that there's a distinction here, but you can't adopt a White Supremacist principle and make it your own.

This is why everyone is calling him a pick for someone who expects a landslide, rather than a politically smart choice. This guy appeals only to Andrew Tate listeners, and they were already in the tank for Trump.

Umbrella, even before tax credits don't people still get deductions or exemptions for child dependents? I mean, for me that hasn't been the case for 15 years but I vaguely remember that coming up on my w4 and tax returns. (If the child is grown and I have a cat, am I now a childless cat lady?)

They can't drop him because it's too late and no one will want to join Trump's team as VP who isn't batshit crazy like Vance. Further, Trump's team is also notoriously bad at judging and hvetting candidates (see Vance).

The Dems have gotten more unified and energized around Harris now, and it will be much harder for Republicans to find a new candidate who:
1) is properly vetted in less than 2 weeks when ballots need to be printed, and
2) actually wants to commit "political suicide" and run on Trump's ticket. It was easier to find a VP pre-convention. The climate is different now, and a new VP will miss out on a convention rollout.
