(They think they’d fart off to New York or Illinois is what they quietly think to themselves. It’s not wrong when they do it, you see.)

I think a lot don't necessarily agree with this barbaric law, but taxes, gender identity, and the border issues are more important because no one thinks they will need an abortion until they do. So they will just go to a blue state if they need an abortion, and secretly think, "Thank you God for these blue states and that Dems have indirectly saved my life." I don't think they ever think that God would find them to be hypocrites.

Knowing a few people like this, their prayers of gratitude, the out loud and public ones anyway, are a lot more self involved and a lot less self aware.

they would never thank a blue state or Dems out loud. I did state that.

As M. Albright stated: "there is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."

It's like they don't even understand that that option will not be available for many women and they now have to carry unviable fetuses that are literally rotting in their wombs or they have to leave the state.... These conservative women who have such a large following could do so much good in the world if they just talked about reality instead of glossing over their miscarriage while chastising the choice, many other women have to make every single day that is heartwrenching.

They wouldn't be influencers if they said that. They don't want to do good, they want to make money. It's all a grift. They know that THEY will be able to obtain an abortion. H3LL, I'm sure they have had abortions (and claim it's a miscarriage). Look at the woman from Moms for Liberty. All her anti-LBGT crap when she herself is having a threesome with another woman and her husband is an alleged rapist.

Republicans recognize this is a losing issue. They are the proverbial dogs that caught the car and now don't know what to do. And so they are totally silent.

But laws are laws. Republican judges and Republican legislators passed these draconian rules. It puts doctors in a terrible position. They can't help women with these laws. They'd all love to help a woman with a dead baby inside. But they can't without looking at years of prison.

Republicans are just sweeping it aside and ignoring. The problem with Republicans is that they don't care until it happens to them. The single biggest characteristic of Republicans is a profound lack of empathy.

Unfortunately, these people will not suddenly vote blue unless there's a personal impact. I mean it when I say no empathy. It is the defining characteristic of Republicans today.

The bolded is something I think about a lot and have for ages. I think it’s an essential difference between conservatives and liberals.

Blue states should refuse to care for anyone from a red state.... honestly until they are impacted red states won't change. Their citizens NEED to die for this to change or They don't see any negative impact of what they're doing

It’s kind of strange, but these so-called conservatives are making me an actual conservative. I have no faith in the government to do right by its people anymore and just want them out of my personal business. So I guess success? Doesn’t mean I’m ever voting for these fascists, though.

I hate to “well akshually” but they have empathy for people who they identify as in group, and none for out group. “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

Who said this?

It’s literally a comment on a blog post from 2018. By Ohio composer Frank Wilhoit (not the political scientist Frank Wilhoit.) But so so good. As all encompassing as “the cruelty is the point” and “when fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

Religious "pro-lifers" tend to think that God will never do anything like this to them. Some of them have fooled around and now will find out.
