All the recent referendums that have pushed back against this ugly extremism have passed easily in every single state where they have been tested. The voters of this country are well aware of the situation and intend to fight back hard.

Sadly voters are STILL not connecting bans with politicians. Ohio elected JD Vance, Kansas reelected Jerry Moran to US Senate w/ 60% of the vote! Maybe this woman can cut an ad similar to that girl in Kentucky. But voters will still refuse to connect Paxton’s cruelty to Ted Cruz. Heck, there are plenty of ppl here still bOtH SiDes and NOT ALL REPUBLICANS.

Yes folks, it is all Republicans.

I tend to think that at least some of the online people pushing ignorant “both sides” are paid Republican shills. They need to push the story that Republicans are just as bad as the other guy, because people would stop voting Republican for good if they allowed themselves to grasp the truth.

I guess I’d be a criminal in OH because I’m not fishing the clump out of my toilet after miscarrying. I had decided against a D&C when I found out my fetus no longer had a heartbeat. I bled for a couple days then the clump expelled itself. I said my goodbye and flushed.

You would be! I mean, wait - are you Black? If you’re Black that’s a crime. Or maybe if you were a Democratic activist. But mostly if you’re Black what you did was a crime. If you’re White, according to the forced birther universe, you acted justly. That poor Ohio woman went to the doctor four times, too. They told her they couldn’t help her.

Frankly, I’m lightly entertained at all the forced birther morons who evidently think her fetus was whole, healthy, delivered into her waiting arms and then placed into the toilet for disposal. Way to advertise that you guys have no clucking clue.

Republicans and anti-abortionists are awfully silent on this thread.

All you people who live in TX, you'd better you are never in this woman's situation. No one ever thinks they will be, until they are.

I am guessing that there is a high likelyhood that the victim here probably either never really voted or voted for republicans (being religious and wanting a big family, it would fit the demographic) - I hope, once she gets through this, that she is able to share her story far and wide.

And the AG can burn in hell for all I care.

+1 And major respect to this woman for coming forward and putting her personal business out there and making a case out of this instead of just traveling somewhere else.

apparently, the AG "argued in court that Cox hadn't proved she would suffer "immediate and irreparable injury" and suggested that a subsequent hearing be allowed with more evidence.", and that ""The only party that’s going to suffer an immediate and irreparable harm" if the judge grants the requested order, he said, "is the state.""

Like a lawyer knows what medical condition would cause a woman immediate and irreparable harm more than a doctor would. And how exactly does the state "suffer an immediate and irreparable harm" by this woman's medical need for an abortion?

Honestly, you Rs need to take a long hard look in your soul and your brain.

No they don't. They just all need to be voted out of office.

Both soul and brain are rotten in the GOP. There’s not another way to look at it. The GOP, which declares itself to be “Christian” opposes any solutions to our health care problems, even though that cause pain, injury and debt that circumscribes people’s lives for good. One of their complaints about “Obamacare” was that there would be “death panels,” even though algorithms and/or bean counting accountants at insurance companies already essentially decided who lives and who dies.

So the party that was sure “death panels” would be a thing has essentially created a death squad, at least for women. And they have no problem with this, so long as a a good time party slut gets punished adequately for having sex. That seems to be their guiding principle.

wtf are they thinking?

They don’t think beyond “tHe bAbIeS!”. Complex issues are not their forte. I’m certain this has not crossed their mind at all.

Right, but once the legal stuff is settled, I hope she becomes an advocate for women's healthcare as a personal calling. She is good at it and her story could be anyone's story, which is why the GOP are so depraved.

New: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has asked the state Supreme Court to intervene and stop a Dallas woman from having an abortion.

The AG's petition comes after a Travis County district judge cleared the way for Kate Cox to terminate her pregnancy.
