Not sure it matters much to them. Their only goal these days is to own the libs. |
Reminder: GOP in House voted to raise the debt limit. |
They did? A clean debt resolution? Oh, no? Just a Republicans wish list fever dream attached to it? No, that's not doing their job. That's preening for the base. |
Provided, however, that any new money spent is paid using unicorn tears as currency. WHY WON'T DEMOCRATS NEGOTIATE? |
GOP in House also voted to cut spending for veterans. |
There was an Obama shutdown. Ted Cruz was a new senator and was holding funding to implement the ACA hostage. I’m a Fed and had to work unpaid, but I still think it was a fight worth having. |
The question was why are aren’t Democrats hypocritical obstructionists like Republicans when the White House is held by the other party. |
Well then, during the budgeting process, you democrats can restrain yourself and not always come up with more and more ways to spend money we don't have instead of just whining every few years about the debt limit. When the debt limit is passed, will you become more responsible or not? Countries are voting with their feet. They're running away from the dollar because you insist on diluting it. |
Democrats are the only ones who ever pay for or offset the costs of their proposals. Democrats had “pay as you go” requirements in Congress and when Republicans took the House in 2001 they ditched PAYGO and blew up the budget and eventually crashed the economy. When Democrats took the House again they brought back PAYGO and enforced it. Then Republicans ditched it again and blew up the budget with Trump. You are clueless about the federal budget. |
Or you know, we could actually "Make America Great Again" and raise taxes on corporations and individuals to the levels on seen in the 1950s. You R's never ever think that raising taxes is the answer. We do, if it's well spent. |
1950's? How about the 2010's first |
With a 22% across the board funding cut. 22% of everything... defense, VA, Social Security, Medicare, schools, FDA, roads, FAA, etc |
They have not come up with a budget only cuts. McCarthy feels the swinging breeze of the Sword of Damocles getting closer and closer to his pretty little neck in the form of losing his speakership. He made a deal with the GOP devils and now they want his pathetic soul. If McCarthy wants to keep his job, he would do well to strike a deal with Jeffries and the Dems. |
