if by "us" you mean regular American people, it is a huge win.

That has nothing to do with the debt ceiling, which is about borrowing more money.

Is an end in sight?

It was never a question. This was just for show. This debt ceiling “crisis” will be forgotten about by Friday. The markets have moved on and are not paying attention to this.

Let’s be clear who the clowns are:GOP. Democrats wanted a clear bill but MAGA needed to make a fuss and put us through this mess.

Elect clowns, expect a circus.

They got a fig leaf, omnibus leads to automatic 1% reduction in spending. They will probably add 2% in spending to the omnibus to cover this.

Bill has passed the House.

McCarthy is going to be out soon because of this deal. The Trumpies are going to oust him.

If you go to a restaurant and get dinner, you have to pay for it. The diner doesn’t care if you pay by cash or credit card (debt). But you have to pay your bill. The hostage negotiations the GOP forced is not to decide whether to do to dinner (the budget negotiations) but rather whether to pay the bill.

The Trumpies couldn't sink this deal, why you think they can sink McCarthy?

Only 71 Republican votes against is pretty good for McCarthy. I was sure there would be more than 100.

The math for passing this deal and for sinking McCarthy are completely different. There were 165 democrats who voted for the deal and that is the only reason it passed. There would be 0 democrats voting for McCarthy to remain as speaker.

Astounding that the idiot Republicans like Cornyn and Rand Paul are still trying to sabotage our country by putting the debt ceiling bill in jeopardy with their stupid amendments.
