Bridgerton, Season 2

I didn’t feel their chemistry. And the episodes could be repetitive, with their mutual torment. But I enjoyed the season nonetheless.

I thought their chemistry in that scene was so so good loved them together. Those stares!

+1

I thought they had great chemistry.

I think when people have chemistry they don’t have to stand near and sniff each other.

That was probably in the script, dumbass.

It's okay, and overall I like the story more than the absurd "I will dramatically pull out of my twelve year old looking bride to stick it to my dead father" thing from last season. But I'm already so TIRED of it. Eloise is a feminist and doesn't want to do any of this. We get it. Kate doesn't approve of Anthony for Edwina. WE GET IT. I don't know if I can stand another six hours of this.

Also, is Kate super tall or is Edwina super short? I know that they share only one parent, but the height differential is ridiculous.

Since everyone is so hung up on what they look like, I actually think the moms are the best looking women in the cast. Mrs. Sharma and Mrs. Bridgerton are both really pretty. Kate is stunning with her hair down, but less so with it up, as it just accentuates her size. Is she 6'5" or something, or are all the other actresses tiny? I can't tell. I think the Bridgerton boys A through C are all hot, which is strange because I don't tend to dig white guys.

If I keep watching, it'll be for the decor and the cute dog. The dress fabrics are stunning, but A-line dresses do nothing for anyone.

Lady Violet (Ruth Gemmell) is a "real" actress--like a London stage actress--and I think is very pretty and also great in the role.

Lady Mary (Shelley Conn) is GORGEOUS, look her up. In the book, she had been the diamond in her debut season, and they nailed the casting.

Dunno. One of my old flings smelled amazing and I’d love to just inhale him. Yum.

They said this several times in the show.

Gross. Just ewwwww. You have horrifically bad taste in men.

NP. Don’t yuck our yum! I think Anthony is super hot. I love a good, intense stare (in book/on tv/in moves). Creepy in real life but gets me every time on screen.

I didn't find Anthony to be attractive in Season 1, but I thought he was really hot in Season 2. It's amazing what a haircut can do.

Agree but he looked thinner this year. Too thin.

That's not how the series works. It's based on a set of novels that are each about a different sibling. I am hearing a TON of buzz!

Hmmm, I told you they should have kept the original characters. Dead in the water.

'Most of the bedroom scenes were previously supplied by Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne Bridgerton and Rege-Jean Page as her husband, the Duke of Hastings. But he doesn't appear in series two and she is more of a background character.

...

'Now all the romance revolves around Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan, and new character Kate Sharma, played by Simone. But their lust never progresses beyond flirtation and a nearly kiss.'

You really think they aren’t going to have them do sex scenes? They don’t follow the books word for word.

I don’t ‘think’ anything. The reviews are in

https://variety.com/2022/tv/reviews/bridgerton-season-2-review-anthony-kate-1235208981/amp/

The review says they have sex.

The reviews say there is barely any sex, at the last moment, rushed and the show is boring. Like I said.

But over the course of the season’s eight episodes running a solid hour-long each, this “Bridgerton” return too often feels like a luxurious carriage stuck in the mud, spinning its wheels before eventually heaving itself back on the road.

There’s always pornhub.

Copious sex was the only reason Bridgerton 1 took off astronomically in comparison to say...Victoria or Downton Abbey.

Without it AND the original main characters they're sunk. That's all I'm saying.

Bridgerton took off bc the duke was hot af. The sex scenes were barely much of anything and lasted less than 5 mins. It took until the end of the season to get there too.

Yes, The Duke gave me sizzling hot sex with myself.

Oh yall are so funny.

Just finished the season and think Kate's hair/makeup was the problem. The actress was in Sex Education and she was hot and did some great sexy scenes. In this show, her hair was back in a stern but not pretty way. Edwina's hair was back but in a cute way. Agree with the makeup and wonder why they couldn't "make-up" Edwina's stretch marks on her décolletage.

Look, many lovely ladies with lovely chests have these marks, I get it, but for my fantasies, I wish they were better prepped.

I got the chemistry but the color-blind casting coupled with the who's Indian, who's supposed to be White, are they culturally Indian or culturally British questions did confuse me.

Daphne is fine looking but not hot, sexy, beautiful, ect.

I loved this season so much I am going to read the book. Well, listen to it at least. I love a nice British accent in my audiobooks.

I read all the books several times. Loved most of them. The first season was good and close enough to original story and realities regency period to be believable and yet updated and modern enough to add fun and sparkle.

Season 2 story line changes and the complete disregard for all Regency behavioral norms ruins the tale completely. The Indian angle is awful and makes no sense. The changes to the Pall Mall game made me want to cry - one if the funniest parts of the book(s) and they left those particular moves out except for a couple. Just an utterly disappointment.

Oh and Eloise is portrayed horrifically. She is dressed and coiffed as ugly as possible. Her “rebellion” is trite and far too modern. Eloise’s book was a bit dry but they have made her thoroughly unlikable in the tv show.

I have to agree.

I must have missed something, do the Sharma sisters have the same father? The eldest Kate is truly awful person though in the first couple episodes there was some chemistry and tension. But then episode after episode she was just rude and toxic and superficial in her assumptions. Only up to episode 5 or 6.

Eloise is also just acting rude towards everyone. I assume she dates the publisher guy or becomes a lesbian?
