Bridgerton, Season 2

Most have one, maybe two sex scenes and it always 2/3 of the way. I don’t think Quinn is that great of a writer. The series gives me pretty people giving each other long stares and great scenery and costumes so I’ll happily watch.
I hope the skip or majorly rewrite Benedict’s story cause there is a lot wrong there. (Kinda hoping Mdme. Delacroix’s first name is Sophie, it would be an easy way “fix” the story)
I want to see Francesca’s that was my favorite. Looking forward to Collin/Penelope and Eloise’s stories. I could skip Gregory and Hyacinth, I feel like Quinn ran out of ideas by those books.

Francesca on the show gets zero air time. She was away filming another project actually. How can you possibly be interested in her? Haven’t seen anything that would make me interested in her! It’s like she doesn’t exist. The disappearing sister. Like the younger sister, Judy, on the Steve Urkel show.

That’s true to the books too. She doesn’t do much in the first four books and even in her book she talks about she feels a bit different from her highly social siblings since she’s an introvert.

Also, Kate’s borderline snippiness with Lady Danbury irritated me. She’s her guest and doesn’t know anything about the ton. She could be more deferential.

NP and south Asian American here, the makeup and lighting for Kate and Edwina weren’t good at all. The foundation didn’t seem to match their skin tones. The makeup made them look muddy and shiny like they were in bad brownface. It made both actresses who are lovely look less lovely. I could have done a better job as makeup artist with the time I’ve spent perusing Sephora. Kate’s hair was severe and unflattering. I know she can’t go around with her hair down, but there needed to be more hair framing around her face.

Just finished season two- it was much better than season one. I loved how Edwina developed into a strong willed person over the season. And how Anthony softened. Plus he’s supppppeeerrrrr hot.

+1 yes, exactly! Kate’s foundation and hair were very strange and unflattering. Edwina was a
little better.

I don't like Eloise at all. She is too hell bent on defying the system, being different and judging everyone / everything around her. Listening to her drone on and on about whatever hot topic she is onto is insufferable. I have zero interest to see how the Eloise's story plays out. Yawnfest.

Not to mention how loudly the actress is chewing the scenery. I find her portrayal pretty awful.

I also don’t understand why she is just allowed to go/do/say whatever she wants while everyone else has to adhere to rules or decorum at least publicly. It seems like her alone in a room with Theo would have her ineligible to ever marry based on other situations in the show.

Her opinions are one thing, but the ridiculous curtsying and flopping around are unbearable. Kate somehow managed to be strong and rebellious but not make a fool of herself every time she met someone.

Kate was too angry the whole season to be likeable.

I thought she played that part well. She was supposed to be the stern one.

The problem was her hair and makeup. It was awful and made her look too severe. The foundation was not the right color, they basically made her thick Indian eyebrows disappear, and the hairstyles did not flatter the angles in her face.

Gross. Just ewwwww. You have horrifically bad taste in men.

NP. Don’t yuck our yum! I think Anthony is super hot. I love a good, intense stare (in book/on tv/in moves). Creepy in real life but gets me every time on screen.

Me too! One of the best sexy stares? The Hot Priest from season 2 of “Fleabag”. Weak.in.the.knees.

She wasn’t angry. Like Anthony, she didn’t have a childhood because she had to carry an adult role too early. She was stressed from the weight of responsibility. I thought they did a good job of showing both actors soften and become more childlike as they discovered love with one another, apart from the familial roles and responsibilities.

I’m on the episode after the wedding gets cancelled and they’re all in a room together figuring out what to do next to minimize the scandal. The dog comes in, Kate and Anthony move closely together, and Edwina’s like “How blind am I not to have seen that all along!!” Hilarious

I thought their chemistry in that scene was so so good loved them together. Those stares!
