Well, she is sponging off her association with the BRF. Do you think plain Ms. Megan Markle would be walking the Disney red carpet and hobnobbing with the likes of Beyoncé, Oprah and Michelle Obama? Good for her but no need to pretend it wouldn’t happen without her present connection.

And I'm pretty sure that Harry is very happy with this arrangement. He has wanted out of his role as a senior role since he was in his 20s. This is as much his idea as Meghan's idea.

I think everyone on both sides is happy with the arrangement, even after the initial sadness of seeing him go. And I agree he was in the driver’s seat on this, may have even planned it since the engagement. They really bungled up the execution but they’ll be ok. You only get one life.

+1

And this plays out on a smaller scale all the time with family businesses ranging from farms to restaurants to plumbing. A friend broke his dad’s heart when he refused to take over the fourth gen family business. They also blamed his wife although he had said he wouldn’t since HS and every choice he made in the following decade showed he was preparing for a different life. No one took it seriously until he married his wife and moved away. Buy they acted blindsided and made a big stink about disowning him and asking him to pay back what they spent on college for him.

She made $40,000 an episode for Suits. You might not have known who she was, but she was not a nobody.

Nah I like them as a couple. Harry is terrific and she is beautiful and smart but they really screwed this up. Their problem is their ego and more importantly they were taking advice from people not in the royal world including the or agency from California. Dropping that website with how they are going to do things including how things would be funded was just dumb. How did they think that was going to go over, it came across as aggressive and just bratty. This is the kid of stupid stuff you expect from arrogant La entertainment people. They should have worked this out through the proper channels and so what if it took longer. The saving grace is the Queen is kind and wants them to be happy. The check in as Year clause is really helpful. I predict they come back into the fold in a year.

I only wish H&M had given the whole thing more time. She should have stayed low while on the mommy track and reemerged 5 + years later when the dust settles and when people are more used to her.
I notice that whenever a new woman enters our work group, there is tons of nastiness (especially from white women). That usually settles down after people get used to each others' personalities.

She certainly wasn’t world famous on the scale she is now.

I agree.

White women are awful and I am a white woman. Cattiness times ten. Most of my closest friends are diverse and also men. I got tired of the bitchy stuff and the Botox. Not one of my diverse friends is obsessed with plastic surgery.

They requested the same deal William and Kate received and were refused. The Firm’s desire to exploit her to enhance the appeal of the monarchy was overzealous.

I agree.

But it certainly forced the Queen’s hand and likely got them a better and quicker deal than they would have.

What deal? Wasn’t Megan the one sending emails at 5 am?

Yeah they are. They will talk horribly about someone and then act surprised/offended when confronted.

There is zero evidence to suggest this.

Agree. Say whatever you want about MM, but it is very clear she would’ve made it even without Harry. She is hardworking and would’ve become more known once Suits was over. People act like becoming a well known actress happens over night.
