Meghan and Prince Harry are moving to the U.S./Canada - OFFICIAL

I almost wonder if her father has early dementia. If he truly was a warm and loving father prior, maybe this is a personality change. I had a parent go from supportive to catty and down right personality disordered with dementia.

Think about it. Even if you felt your kid betrayed you in some way, would you ever want to publically humiliate them and try to ruin the kid's life? Is he really classless and desperate or is the man mentally and/or physically ill?

I notice that whenever a new woman enters our work group, there is tons of nastiness (especially from white women). That usually settles down after people get used to each others' personalities.

She doesn’t have that kind of time to waste waiting for jerks “to get used to her.”

Harry is a spare who is not part of the succession to the throne - it was always the plan to phase him out of royal duties - the only question was when.

They are at their peak popularity and earning potential right now. In 5 - 10 years their time will be past. They are smart for putting their family first and doing what’s best for Archie. If they had waited until William’s kids are teenagers, they would be SOL in terms of influence and ability to be financially independent. This would likely coincide with the time for Will to streamline the royal family and cut Harry and Meghan out. They would be reduced to begging for scraps much like Beatrice and Eugenie now. I wouldn’t want that life for my children (or myself.)

Well, she is sponging off her association with the BRF. Do you think plain Ms. Megan Markle would be walking the Disney red carpet and hobnobbing with the likes of Beyoncé, Oprah and Michelle Obama? Good for her but no need to pretend it wouldn’t happen without her present connection.

She made $40,000 an episode for Suits. You might not have known who she was, but she was not a nobody.

Agree. Say whatever you want about MM, but it is very clear she would’ve made it even without Harry. She is hardworking and would’ve become more known once Suits was over. People act like becoming a well known actress happens over night.

There are a lot or c or b list actors in Hollywood. Meghan had a career of her own but appearing in a lead role on a cable sitcom isn't exactly A list and buddies with Oprah. Nor was it a guarantee she had a rosy future after Suits. She was already hitting prime work years and if she didn't break into the A list by mid 30s it wasn't going to happen. I'm sure she'd have found other opportunities but odds were already stacked against her progressing higher into bigger shows or even on screen due to Hollywood's brutal realities with aging.

Harry already has 30-40 million. Meghan brought another 3 million. Begging for scraps? Cry me a river.

This is a very rich couple complaining they're not filthy rich. Ok....

Disagree. But I guess it depends on who you consider A list. Also, we will never know what could’ve happened to MM but at the end of the day she is hardworking. That would’ve helped her get to where she wanted to be. It’s a climb to get to A list and she was clearly willing to make that climb. You might think she wouldn’t have made it, but I think she would have. Oh and there are plenty of A list actresses currently doing sitcoms and limited series/miniseries.

Same issue: using royalty to increase her stature and make money.

She couldn’t launch a successful brand without marrying him.

SussexRoyal doesn’t work with a D list actress in Canada. But it works with Harry at her side.

It remains to be seen how the SussEx-Royal will work at all. But if it doesn't, maybe she can let the producers of The Crown know she is available to star as herself.

5 years later they would have been too old to launch as celebrities. They have been married for what 1.5 years ? And had been officially discussing this for months, which means unofficially they would have been planning since the wedding if not prior. I really think this was Harry’s ambition and she was his ticket out. They need better advisor though.

Plenty of people are hardworking and ambitious in Hollywood. And Megan wasn’t a spring chicken by the standards of the entertainment industry, so it is dubious she would have become a household name on her own. And the A-list actresses now working in TV have already made their money.

This.

This is precisely why some people can’t stand H&M. They seem like greedy jerks. Many lesser royals are doing just fine. But that’s not good enough for them. They want to roll like the richest celebrities, so they’re ditching a dignified and comfortable life to pursue more riches by monetizing their “brand.” They’ll do it under the auspices of “charity,” but that just makes it even more unseemly.

And seriously: go on the DM to see the latest/second video of H begging Jon Favreau to throw work M’s way. It’s pathetic.

And yet, she was a lead actress on a show with 9 seasons. You can think she Pilsner have made it but she was making it. Not bad for someone you keep wanting to call old. Oh and nope, plenty of A list actresses are coming from sitcoms and limited series. The already A list are running to sitcoms and limited series.

Dp- look, they are saddled with some additional costs re:BRF , security alone is in the millions, and they will need security. It seems they are moving toward an income that allows them to eventually carry those costs without the Duchy. They should be applauded for that.

They requested the same deal William and Kate received and were refused. The Firm’s desire to exploit her to enhance the appeal of the monarchy was overzealous.

What was that deal?

I am not an MM or KM fan, and at heart am anti-royalist. I am reading this thread mostly because I find Meghan's haters entertaining in their craziness (some of the fans are crazy too, but not to the unhinged degree of her haters). So I would consider myself fairly neutral.

With that background, I went and watched this video. I don't get all the fuss. It doesn't come across as begging. It came across as as joking to me. I mean, that's the most common sense explanation as well. It's not like MM or HM could force the Disney corporation to do anything, or that Disney does not know exactly who M&H are.
