UVA Gang rape

Here is the story of the other UVA victim whose story is similar and, as mentioned by the previous poster, could find some justice when one of her rapist contacted her to apologize 20 years later.

She's been ducking the press from the beginning.

I don't understand why we're not rioting in the streets about this. Seriously. Enough is enough.

Because the media is absorbed with the "rioting" around the country, in support of a thug in Missouri.

I was thinking about that too. Where's the justice for the UVA rape victim? There's even some disagreement as to whether the cop was attacked in the aforementioned case. Not clear what all of this rioting is going to accomplish. But media loves reporting on it.
I'm outraged about this rape issue.

Let's riot. A 2000 car caravan to Charlottesville next Sat. Will Al Sharpton make an appearance for whites?

oops. I'm the person who posted the comment wondering why we're not rioting about this. I didn't in any way mean to take away from the righteousness of the Ferguson outrage.

It just baffles me that violence against women just goes on and on and on, and is legitimized in so many ways by the entertainment and advertising industries etc etc. And we just roll over and let it happen.

Is it because there is no united front of women (ie, we are too diverse?)

If the you took the vile emails against women from that fraternity and substituted a minority for the references to women, there would be more outrage.

I'm NOT trying to say that outrage would be misplaced. I'm asking for more outrage, not less.

I don't want to make it an either/or thing. (that you can support racial equality or gender equality.) I just don't understand why there isn't a great hue and cry over these things. Why it is just buried. Why there is so much anti-woman violence and sexism in general even in movies and games for children, and we do nothing.

Then we should do something, and I do mean we. You and me, specifically, not a vague "we" mostly consisting of other people who oughta do something. What will you do? What will I do? This is a sincere question.

Because this whole story is made up and many of us are impartial enough to see it. Violence against women is abhorrent. So is patently lying to get attention. This story is ludicrously fictitious.

Of course they take it seriously. Doesn't make it true. Isn't it a little fishy that even now with all the publicity and potential to bring the perpetrators to justice, make a real difference, the "victim" still hasn't brought charges or even named her assailants?
