Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| I'll be rooting for whoever they are playing. From home, of course, I would never given Cheating Hayfield athletics a dime. |
We know white supremacy isn’t rooting for Hayfield. Sad how a bunch of adults are so angry at a bunch of kids having a successful season. When they bring home the state football championship for the first time in Hayfield history, you guys will be even more mad. |
It's amazing what happens when a county allows a public school coach to recruit like they're at a prep school. Those kids are all good enough to play WCAC where games are actually regularly scouted rather than at Hayfield where colleges may send scouts to a game or two. |
I'm sad you have such low expectations for the integrity and sportmanship of Black coaches. Feels a bit racist to me. Soft bigotry of low expectations... |
At least three of them played for private high schools last year in Maryland and DC yet mysteriously claim to have all moved in-bounds for Hayfield this summer... |
What's terrible is that you haven't done a root cause analysis. 1. Why do you have a problem with Hayfield? Answer: Many students were able to pupil place their children so they can play there. 2. What is the issue? Answer: Many think that students should not be able to school which high school they attend and that the current practice is supported by VHSL and FCPSS. 3. Why do VHSL and FCPS support preventing the transfer of students? Answer: VHSL started in 1913. FCPS started in 1870. Public School Zoning is deeply intertwined with historical practices of racial and economic segregation. As a result, schools in wealthier, predominantly white neighborhoods often have more resources and opportunities than schools in poorer, predominantly minority areas. Thus, the lack of school choice can perpetuate existing inequalities in education, keeping students in underperforming schools based on their zip code. This is why it's so easy to identify those against Overton once one looks at their reasons why, to promote racial segregation. |
The root cause is that kids are lying about living situations to attend a school they should not be allowed to attend. Even if you want to call it pupil placing, pupil placing for sports isn't a valid reason in FCPS |
It’s not a problem when it’s happening at Madison, Langley, or even Battlefield though. |
Battlefield is not a FCPS, it's in Prince William county. Prince William has a system where students can attend a school their neighborhood is zoned for if they enroll in a specialty program. It's very common, even for students who are not athletic superstars, to do this in PWC. |
No idea about PWC but despite your insistence that cheating is no big deal and happens everywhere, no one has linked to any proof that Langley, Madison or any other FCPS had 33 kids transfer in pretending to live in-zone simply to play one sport. The parents didn't "Pupil place" their kids to play football. That's not allowed in FCPS. |

The Overton fan boy doesn't care about FCPS attendance or transfer rules. Rules are meant to be broken!
He thinks Black coaches should be allowed to do whatever they want and if you disagree, you are a racist. Which is bizarre because no one cares that he's black except his fan club. If a white or purple coach did the same exact thing, it would be just as disgusting and cringe. |
Prior posters have named white coaches that are bringing kids in that live outside of the school they are coaching’s boundaries, you just dont have the same smoke for the white ones. Beyond that, Coach Overton has been publicly cleared by FCPS and the VHSL of "any wrongdoing”. Yet you still continue to accuse the man of cheating. Reminds tme of a famous guy (now a politician), who wanted the Central Park Five jailed even after DNA evidence exonerated them and the rapist came forth and confessed. |
he turned around a public school team with a roster full of transfers. You have to be willfully blind not to know he's cheating |
| Which "white coaches" at what FCPS HS brought in 33 kids as "transfers" this year? I missed the link to the news article about these other schools. |
