Prince Harry and Meghan in Near Catastrophic Car Chase in NYC

Anonymous
It seems like this event wasn't managed properly by the security team. Obviously I wasn't there but why did it go on for two hours? Did they assume no one would follow them after they left the event? Why not call the police after the first 5-10 minutes? I just wonder what the original plan was to get from the event to the friend's place.

And frankly an accident could very easily have happened, high speed isn’t required for a tragedy they happen ALL THE TIME in cities all across the country. A pedestrian could easily have been hurt or killed by erratic driving of paps chasing them.

This really matters to Harry, his mom DIED this way. I think it is sad to see all the folks reacting so negatively and mocking them. They provided ample opportunity for pictures before and after the event. This kind of paparazzi stalking of ALL celebrities should be socially unacceptable. Media should refuse to publish pictures taken this way. The whole practice should be done, it’s intrusive and often creates unreasonable risks and dangers. Enough.

Sadly, the real reason his mother died was that her driver had a high blood alcohol level. He was driving while impaired and made some very bad decisions. If the driver of that car had not been drinking before getting behind the wheel, there very well may not have been a crash that night.

And she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. It was a perfect storm.

H&M want it both ways. If you're a celebrity, you're going to be treated like a celebrity and unfortunately that means paparazzi.

I wonder why this wasn’t an issue the last time they were in NYC to collect an award. Wasn’t that just a few months ago? What changed? Their security was completely outsmarted by some paparazzi on mopeds?

Yep. 100%.

Annnnnd they need a better PR team who can be honest with them. Although i recognize that it might not be possible for anyone to ever get them to understand that they’re their own worst enemies when it comes to unforced errors. This happens again and again when they release Important News. I posted back on page 1 that it was shameful for these paps to do this, and it absolutely is, but the ensuing sh!t storm of what constitutes a “high speed, near-catastrophic, 2 hour car chase” is completely on them. The timing of the release – soon after the news that Harry is again trying to get crown protection – makes it seem convenient and contrived. They need staff who can help them take a beat, read the moment and proceed carefully. Until this happens, the cycle will repeat over and over.

Can you stop saying stuff like this? It's so weird. People are allowed to not like a celebrity. They're objectively annoying. No one is wishing death on them.

You can dislike them. But the fervor around the situation is what’s toxic and can lead to worse things. Same thing happened when his book came out and people were looking for “gotcha” lies- like how TJ Maxx doesn’t have sales. When the normal public read that same line they understood that he meant clearance events.

If you dislike them so much, you can mute their names on twitter, or not open the thread on dcum. You’re putting yourself in a position to be annoyed by them.

That’s me you agreed with, and this is me agreeing with you 100%. I like H & M, but they are their own worst enemies. They need to figure out how to thicken their skins a little while also advocating for their valuable viewpoints.

I'm rather fascinated with the evolution of this theory.

I watched the story unfold when the crash happened. The driver's family and friends emphatically stated he was NOT A DRINKER, NEVER DRANK, WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN DRUNK.

And yet, the official statements placed the blame on a dead man (who couldn't defend himself) for having a high alcohol level.

Veeerrryyy interesting, if you ask me. Diana was an inconvenient problem for the BRF.

Maybe H&M are starting to see the value in the symbiotic relationship between the RF and the media. The media helps you promote yourself and your projects and in return you throw them some photos now and then so they don’t “endanger” your life trying to get candid photos.

Sounds like it was exaggerated, which seems on brand for the two of them.

Unlikely it went on for two hours in a frenetic, dangerous way; there would be a zillion furst-hand accounts - this is nyc.

Honestly, I just don’t really care about these paparazzi photos, and I imagine the majority of Americans are the same; this isn’t England. We don’t have royalty.

Honestly, the press should just ignore them altogether. Paparazzi have enough bread and butter from other celebrities (and that’s what H and M are - garden-variety celebrities - not USA royalty).

The Conrad Hotel is right next door. They could have easily gone out a back entrance of the Ziegfeld Ballroom and into the back entrance of the hotel and none of this would have happened.

If it was that scary and triggering for Harry, you would think he would have put his seatbelt on in the cab.

That's one thing I don't really get. What is the great $$$ market for these photos such that paparazzi would find all of this worthwhile? They were just photographed at the event. Are the cab photos worth anything? It's not like capturing pix of something private or unseemly or interesting.

NP. It sounds like you are more annoyed by the dislikers.
Too bad, this is not China. Public discourse is important regardless of whether you agree or not.

My question is, what did Meghan actually do to receive that award? Just for being half black? She does not even date black men, only white ones. So, what has Meghan do to benefit the mankind?
