A Southern elite with $650k+ in private education and she's only a pre-K "teacher" at age 34? Anyone in education knows pre-K isn't actually a teacher and you certainly don't need $650k in credentials to do it. Something very odd about all of this, especially how a gal like this even lets a man like him orbit her.

Whether she's a preK or kindergarten teacher (I've heard both), i cannot believe you made such a critical condescending comment. We should be glad to have and encourage well-educated teachers at all grade levels. If she doesn't need a high-paying job, what's it to you? Many people love teaching young children.

She presumably didn’t meet her husband until her late 20s and didn’t have children until around age 30. So she’s been a pre-K teacher for 10 years (since age 23 or 24 after getting her master’s in Nashville), well before marriage and kids came into the picture, and hasn’t advanced? It’s a bit strange.

If this is true, I can't blame her. The guy has obviously been relapsing. He went from moderately handsome clean cut (late 20s?) man in their wedding photos to a strung out junkie who has aged 25 years in 8 years and covered his body with super sketchy tattoos. You can't give money to someone like that.

And this is exactly why you don't marry outside your caste

+1. Shame on her parents (and church) for letting someone like him get close to her.

Good point. Only lower caste people should be kidnapped.

Please don't use that term. It is so offensive and the terrible things that happen to people in other countries based on this abhorrent system shouldn't be used in a joking manner. The word should be banned.

Seems he had nothing to do with this so let’s not tear apart the poor man dealing with an awful situation.

Watch this 60 clip with the sound off.

“My apologies in advance if this has been touched on but the guy that was arrested did a 20 year bid for kidnapping. The interesting thing is, the man that was kidnapped 20 years ago, was a partner at Eliza’s uncle’s law firm. This uncle is the same person that made the statement on the news. Almost like this is what the kidnapper is paid to do. I can’t see this being a revenge plot for the suspect because the lawyer that he kidnapped passed away over a decade ago.”

Wtf?! The uncle above is a lawyer at the same law firm the lawyer this man kidnapped worked at 20 years ago?!

I know what it is about social media oversharers but it communicates a certain level of instability, drama, and impulsivity. Of course most of these people don’t murder their spouses but imo it adds to the perception that they were highly emotional people in a volatile relationship.

+1. And as someone on Lipstick Alley put it: “her husband looks like a whole crackhead”

Memphis is a small town, particularly when it comes to the legal profession.

Coincidence. Not everything means something. Her mother looks totally gutted. I hope she’s found alive.

She has the money to do what she wants in life. You have to slave away at a job you don’t like to afford your middle-class lifestyle. Apples and oranges.

+1. Coincidences do happen, that’s why we have a word for them.

I hope I’m never in the news for something like this. DCUM would go wild trying to figure out why my life is the way it is.

I think at that point the family had seen the entire abduction video. They knew that she likely was no longer alive. Remember, the vehicle sat there for four minutes after she was dragged into the car. They know what happened.

Same. I think that what happened to her is terrible, and I truly pray that she is rescued.

I’ve never thought DCUM was uglier than today. Time for a break for sure. Some of you people are honestly horrible. Thank you for the few of you who called the heartless vultures out on their disgusting behavior.

Could not agree more. Like those porn sites that don’t verify consent or age, this now seems like one of the dark corners of the internet .
