It is not nearly that high. One Russian KIA is under 200k. Probably under 100k as no one knows how many dead there really are. Casualties are in 5 digits per Russian. You factor in lost Russian HW and lots of it cannot ever be replaced and ROI to the west is probably 1000 to 1 dollar spent. Russia will need 30-40 years to recover. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2023/09/07/how-much-aid-has-the-u-s-sent-to-ukraine/70778581007/ |
| Also if you include the released prisoners who survived Wagner and are back in Russia they are also killing other Russians. If include the murders they will commit in Russia the investment will keep paying off long after the war is over. |
Yes. Exactly right. Almost everything sent to Ukraine is old equipment that was due to be decommissioned regardless. It's actually cheaper to send to Ukraine than to decommission. Now we're talking about F-16s. That's a plane from 1976. The return on investment has been outstanding. Russia is obviously a very weak country. We're sending some old-timey weapons to Ukraine and Russia is getting absolutely wrecked as a consequence. Good stuff. The greatest thing Russia ever did is invade Ukraine. Dumbasses. NATO will take advantage of that as long as Russian soldiers are in Ukraine. |
30 to 40 years? Russia will be in the middle of a demographic collapse in 30 to 40 years. They will not be able to recover from that. |
It's already in th middle of a demographic collapse, at least for ethnic, ie: white, russians. That's why they are stealing Ukrainian kids. In 30 years all the remaining younger Russian women will be sold off to China and it will be left a land of nothing but bitter babushkas and alcoholics. |
And this is why I get nervous. The US has been a day late and dollar short with regards to Ukraine’s struggle for years. For example why are we providing mothballed F-16s and not F-35? There is absolutely no reason the Danes or Dutch or Norwegians should operate F-35. These airframes have to go where they are needed. It’s sad and just needlessly adds to the suffering of Ukrainians. |
Its a catch-22. The old stuff is reliable and generally easy to use and maintain. The new stuff, generally not so much. F-35 availability is pretty low in peacetime with full NATO logistics. Give them to Ukraine with improvised everything and little training, and they won't really accomplish much. Maybe fly just far enough to crash in Russian held territory. |
On which side of the balance sheet do Ukrainian casualties and damage is entered? |
| get entered? |
LOL you're soo goood at amplifying the Kremlin propaganda: the West is only in this war to hurt Russia, not help Ukraine. They don't care about Ukraine. You're the best unwitting helper Solovyov & Co. ever had. |
Contractors are maintaining the equipment. The Ukrainians aren’t going to accomplish anything with previous generation hardware. We continue to screw these people. |
Dp- Sweetie, it can be both. 😘 |
The side of having a free country from Russian criminal invaders; rapists, child kidnappers and murderers. Basically the good side of the balance sheet; where russians are on the evil/spawns from hell side. |
We do not have to give them f-35 or f-16. Aircraft will be take down by drones and a missiles. The air space over the battlefield is contested and will remain so. Russian aircraft do not enter the battle space. It’s a drone war. We should supply them with modern drones and long range ground to ground missiles. |
Dude, there is zero chance any F-35 is going to a thoroughly corrupt, technologically backward, broke-ass country like Ukraine. Singapore is just getting to the point where they may get theirs. Give it up. And it won't make a difference anyway. Maybe in 25 years. |
