| Is this the same for girls or are you all only talking about boys? |
It seems like there are more complaints on here about the girls side |
| Its both sides. But the Boys tend to leave quicker. |
| Girls side was terrrrrible. I can't imagine how bad those coaches and trainings are for the 4th,5th boys teams. |
| Maybe they will finally post that coach slate today!!! |
Don't hold your breath |

Saw a valor "silver" (5th? 6th?) team in the wild this weekend as we waited for the nexr game. Completely useless coach and the entire team lacked any athletic ability let alone any soccer skill. Any group of boys after a full year of even mediocre coaching should look way better.
|
Oh yeah…they got crushed. Even there black team. All almost shut outs, but hey if they enjoy hotels, get to play a few times week and hang with friends …whats $2500-$3000 to anyone a season who has zero expectation on increased development or performance. Am I right! |
Yup, good luck to the parents on those 3rd, 4th and 5th teams. If your waiting for valor to move your kids up and your in your third or 4th season, maybe its time to move on. Just a thought. Maybe valor will dangle that carrot for you. |

Their 3rd-6th teams are worse than rec teams. Even a random, mediocre rec team will have one or two great athletes and one or two kids with good skills. The lowest Valor teams are a rec team without the good players, and they get the weakest coaches who are just there to get paid. Even a group of mediocre athletes should not be totally hopeless after a full year of 3x a week practices with a decent coach. That shows you how lackluster their lower team coaching is.

Everyone at Valor pays $3000. Even the lowest, u-littlest teams. Its $3000 + uniform for everyone. |
| This is a tough club for lower tier teams with minimal support it appears. Some good folks within the club, but is tough to justify $3k+ for minimal development. Losing is part of the journey. But getting crushed constantly doesn't help anybody develop. The winning team isn't really challenged and the losing team realizes just how separated they are from being at a higher level, which some can harness to grow, but most will likely discourage them. Not sure how NCSL or tournaments setup divisions, but it does appear the lower tier teams within VFC are very outmatched. Hopefully things change and the club sees more improvements made in 2025-26. |
Improvement unlikely. Their coach hires for next year are so, so bad that they refuse to make them public like every other local club. And as pp noted, the lowest teams get the completely unexperienced coaches and the dreaded rec level parent coaches. |
| The real mystery with their premium pricing is why do they wait so long and struggle so much to find any decent coaches? |
I have no specific info, but my guess is that higher ups make the coaches’ jobs harder in some way/do not listen to suggestions or ideas for improvements. Or maybe they are micromanaged in terms of roster decisions or how to handle parent complaints. Quite a few coaches who have left Valor after a year or two end up coaching elsewhere, so it’s not like they leave coaching entirely or are unable to be hired. I imagine it’s similar to what happens at a school when a principal is bad. Good people leave and word gets out not to apply for a job there. |
