Republican senators are sweating buckets and frustrated Trump released the transcript which highlights his total lack of ethics.

Yes! I have a tiny little hope that some will detach from Trump and make the right decision.

Or heard about Trump asking a foreign power to meddle in domestic politics.

I just don’t see it. In fact, I think Romney will still go back and fall in line when the time comes.

PP you replied to. I know, I know. But I'm the eternal optimist. A lot will depend on what's in the whistle-blower's complaint.

They won’t.

What very well could happen if there is an impeachment vote is that moderate Democrats will be punished by their constituents and the Dems could lose the House, with Trump remaining President and the GOP retaining control of the Senate. Lindsay Graham is not wrong about that. So be careful what you wish for.

DP. I think you shouldn't underestimate how much his fellow Republicans hate him. If the full complaint and whatever else that comes out is bad enough, they'd welcome the opportunity to get rid of him. He is taking their party down for a generation, and they know it.

If he has Graham under blackmail, who else does he have?

This seems like wishful thinking. They hate him but they are using him.

Using him for what? Using him to lose the House and possibly the Senate?

Maybe. That is in the hands of the voters. But a democratic house cannot stand by and watch the type of third world behavior and do nothing. Regardless of the political consequences. Maybe the Republican Senators will find their mora compass too but I doubt it. I look forward to Susan Colins’ furrowed brow.

So far

They lost the House.

But in return, they have

A tax cut for billionaires
Massive deregulation
Dismantling federal agencies from the inside
2 Supreme Court Justices
Tons of conservative federal judges
And they got to keep the Senate in 2018!

Not a bad return on investment, in Trump. And they can always count on cheating, voter suppression, culture wars, and otherwise manipulating the rubes to keep them in the game.
