Sterling was great as usual. Justin is better than he gets credit for. What’s wrong with Mandy Moore’s glasses? It’s her hairstyle I don’t understand.

I think she is normal. Not average, mind you, but normal. YOU want that storyline to be over. I'm sure the actress and character would like it to be "over" too. What a relief that would be (for her)! It's just that she .... can't. She's trying to make that storyline over. She's trying to lose the weight. OR alternatively at other moments she's trying to accept the weight. Then it would be over. How convenient for herself and for you.

I agree with you on Sterling & Justin.

I'm not sure what people's issues with Mandy's look though. What other hairstyle would you give to her?

When they first arrived at rehab, everyone was eerily calm. Beth couldn't contain her rage, just a little bit of it was peeking out

I get her, because DH's family keeps people out too. We that have married in get along great because of it It's honestly the same for my own family. DH and my married-in-in-laws have a lot in common.

I didn't like Beth in this episode, either. Kevin missed the premiere of his play to help his brother. Then when he was having another premier, his brother and Beth leave the play to argue. And Kevin didn't know his niece was in the car. Beth is self absorbed, except when it comes to Randall, Randall seems to make all the big decisions.

On a lighter note, I liked her hair. I love the long Lisa Bonet hair, I didn't care for the short or updo styles on her.

Best episode so far in my opinion. Its so real and I can connect with it on so many levels.

Beth isn't much different from many of us, I'm sure. We love our extended families but snark about them.

Yup. As soon as the dog showed up this is what I thought.

I also agree.

While I understand this conclusion based on what has happened, isn't this impossible based on what we already know? We saw that the family gets a phone call that he has passed away. So they are not in the house, there is no fire when the kids are home because we saw Kate and Randall we're home when the phone rang, and Kate said I have to be the one to tell Kevin.

Re the weight storyline, I think we said the same thing. You just said it in a preachy, lecturing way.
Re old Rebecca's hairstyle: the show hits every style just right except this one. There isn't another person on earth who wears their hair like this. Rebecca never would.

I didn't find it disrespectful or rude. I found it honest. She was so right in how she talked about how they all put jack on this pedestal and nothing can touch him or say anything bad. Sure he was a pretty good guy, kids look up to their dad and when people die, especially, unexpectedly, all we remember is the good, but he wasn't perfect.

I think it is also pretty common to be harder on your in-laws than on your own family. i know I am that way. I don't have a history with them and don't see them all that often so when i do I see their faults more clearly.

Will they please just tell us how he died already???

To he pp a few ^^ up, define “distracting.” As in you find her size distracting.

not one of the above posters, but in this weeks episode, when they are sitting on the bench together I found it distracting. She just looked so uncomfortable, like she couldn't move or breath. Oftentimes on screen she looks like a big floating head.

I'm one distracted by Kate/Chrissy's weight. And I feel bad about it. But every time she's on the screen my mind goes to her weight issues: how she manages, how she gets her clothes, isn't she tired all the time, could she ever have a healthy pregnancy, etc etc. So I'm thinking about the weight issues and not feeling what else is going on with her character's life. It didn't start out like this but has evolved to this for me. I'm not proud.

I feel the same way. She just looks so uncomfortable to me.

I don't think they're at their own house. Their house burned down, as we saw when Rebecca pulled up in the car with Jack's effects in a plastic bag. Maybe Rebecca or Miguel called them at a neighbor's house from the hospital with the news, but Kevin doesn't know anything about what's happened because wasn't home, or went off with Sophie to wait for news.

Maybe there was a fire at the house. jack gets taken away in the ambulance. Miguel takes Kate and Randal to his place. Rebecca calls them from the hospital to let them know. Kevin was off doing his thing and had no idea there was a fire or anything even going on.

this is what I thought. He died later at the hospital. That's why Rebecca had a bag of things in the car - they were his things from the hospital.
