Metropolitan DC Local Politics
| It's a small parking lot and I've never seen it full. If the business collapses on its own soon, that's fine, but hopefully saner minds will prevail on them to vacate. |
Me too. I'm also spreading the word about this gun store to my friends. We are deliberately driving business to this place to counter the anti 2nd amendment morons. |
You wouldn't know the Second Amendment if it hit you between the eyes. "Gun control ends gun violence as surely an antibiotics end bacterial infections, as surely as vaccines end childhood measles—not perfectly and in every case, but overwhelmingly and everywhere that it’s been taken seriously and tried at length. These lives can be saved. Kids continue to die en masse because one political party won’t allow that to change, and the party won’t allow it to change because of the irrational and often paranoid fixations that make the massacre of students and children an acceptable cost of fetishizing guns." http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/the-second-amendment-is-a-gun-control-amendment When we've finally had enough of the random, yet predictable, gun-inflicted mass killings, reasonable interpretations of the Second Amendment will prevail and we will get guns under control. |
Well it was certainly full today when I drove there. I couldn't even find one parking place. No protesters or even a single TV camera or reporter. Nothing. Zippo. Thank God they are gone. |
I just don't see how moving the store equates to a reduction of firearms. |
That's exactly how most local residents will feel when this store leaves. Which it will, eventually. |
That's true. Those in McLean that purchase for sport, self-defense or concealed carry will just order in their guns to any shop with a FFL license - like the one in Herndon. That's where I go. And Clark Bros. on 29, etc. etc. |
Nope, business is thriving today. Go look at the parking lot. That's the real McLean - not what you saw here on this thread, nor the white liberal women posing for cameras with Foust two weeks ago. |
What are you babbling about? McLean IS largely white and Asian liberal women. And men. |

Zoning laws -- McLean and Fairfax County are sorely lacking in zoning laws and leadership.
I have lived all over the US, including DC, Alexandria, Arlington and all the other places that I lived had strong zoning laws. McLean needs to have a mayor and a city council to deal with these kinds of issues -- not leave it up to the whim of county or state laws. |
Foust failure. |
Uh that would be a little difficult inasmuch as McLean is not a city with governmance bur rather an unincorporated area. You did know that didn't you, or are you writing from Maryland as well? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLean,_Virginia |
+ 1. |
| Yeah, that Victoria woman isn't even from McLean. Neither are her friends. |
