Gun store opening next door to Franklin Sherman Elementary in Mclean

It's a small parking lot and I've never seen it full. If the business collapses on its own soon, that's fine, but hopefully saner minds will prevail on them to vacate.

Well it was certainly full today when I drove there. I couldn't even find one parking place. No protesters or even a single TV camera or reporter. Nothing. Zippo. Thank God they are gone.

People of sound mind and good conscience both here and elsewhere need to reduce the number of firearms and their influence in this country. Getting that POS gun store in McLean to move would be one good step locally.

I just don't see how moving the store equates to a reduction of firearms.

That's true. Those in McLean that purchase for sport, self-defense or concealed carry will just order in their guns to any shop with a FFL license - like the one in Herndon. That's where I go. And Clark Bros. on 29, etc. etc.

Zoning laws -- McLean and Fairfax County are sorely lacking in zoning laws and leadership.

I have lived all over the US, including DC, Alexandria, Arlington and all the other places that I lived had strong zoning laws.

McLean needs to have a mayor and a city council to deal with these kinds of issues -- not leave it up to the whim of county or state laws.
