Dear middle-aged women: capri pants do nothing for you.

So which would be worse, capris or a maxi dress/skirt? I kinda want a maxi dress -- but of course I won't buy one if you all disapprove. . . .

Ah, the capri thread. I am wearing baggy linen capris with sneakers RIGHT NOW. I don't feel bad about it. I'm also very pregnant, which is probably relevant.

Can people post pics of what they perceive to be tragic deployment of Capri pants? Dc is a black hole for style so I can't wait.

If you are tall and thin, nothing. If you are shorter and/or heavy, it can make you look square and squat. And possibly pregnant depending on where the weight is carried.

Why does this thread keep coming back? It's so stupid, I wish Jeff would just lock it.

I don't get the phrase "do nothing for you." They are pants. What are they supposed to do for me?

Well, I can tell you that they've done nothing to help me finish this project I've been struggling through all day. Ugh. Next time I'll try a skirt.

How about boyfriend jeans with a rolled bottom? Similar length to capris. I'm wearing them now. With converse and a t-shirt

I believe what you described is ankle length which is generally ok. Capri pants end at the widest part of the calf, which is why they flatter no one.

Why does the thread keep coming back?

Why is the sky blue? Why do birds chirp?

It just is.

If evaluation of others clothing is something you consider important . . .something is very wrong. People should wear what they like and are comfortable wearing.
