"This can cause a baby to grow without a brain" "It's NOT A PROBLEM"

"There are three main types of neonatal herpes. Healthcare providers classify the condition according to the parts of a baby’s body that HSV affects: Skin, eye and mouth disease (SEM disease). Fluid-filled blisters form on your baby’s skin, in their mouth and around their eyes. CNS disease (brain disease). The virus grows and multiplies in your baby’s central nervous system, affecting their brain and spinal cord. Your baby may not have signs or symptoms early on, and blisters may not form on their skin. Disseminated disease: The virus affects multiple parts of your baby’s body, including major organs like their liver and lungs. In some cases, it affects your baby’s brain." |
I don’t want VD. And I consider anyone who would give me VD a sh!++Y partner |
They play it down because of the mental health aspects of it. |
I don’t have nor do I want cold sores or herpes. I’ve seen someone with a herpes infection on his mouth. It was horrible. Not sure why this is being downplayed. |
They play it down because it is just a rash and you can take good meds for it. It is a nothing burger medically. |
What are the side effects of the meds? Who wants to be dependent on meds? You can take good meds for hiv too. Herpes causes dementia just like a bunch of other STDs like HIV and syphilis. It’s ok not to want herpes. |
So is shingles, and I don't want that either! Go away rape apologist. This is not the space for you to victimize women. |
My friend in college contracted genital herpes and the pain was so excruciating she ended up in the ER. I wouldn’t call that a “nothing burger” |
Sure it’s OK not to want herpes. That doesn’t change the fact that doctors don’t see it as serious (in the range of things you can have) and doesn’t justify extreme reactions (like leaving your husband because he has cold sores!) |
You are insane. |

Oh boy. |
| When we were dating, my husband didn’t tell me had cold sores. When I found it, I didn’t think that was anywhere near close to a good reason to leave at all. We got married and have seven kids (12,11,9,7,4,3, infant). Its not that big of a deal, I don’t have HSV-1 and our kids don’t either. |
