Do you dissolve into a puddle of tears every time a company lays off staff? This happens ALL the time in companies and corporations, across entire industries.

Remember covid when people lost their jobs, their businesses, their livelihoods?

I can’t wait to see the mass fed layoffs. Time to trim the fat!

Please stop posting on American forums. Go back to Russia, where you belong. Have fun in Ukraine.

This. Government workers were calm and relaxed while the government put restrictions in place on most private industries that put tons of people out of work (either officially or unofficially by simply not allowing them to work to get a paycheck). It’s long overdue that the bloat was cut from our federal government. I don’t agree with everything that Trump does but this one I’m looking forward to.

Many functions will likely move to the states anyway. So unless you’re doing something completely useless, you probably still have options if you live in a blue state. There will be some disruption but that’s life.

You are so dense. Most gov workers were very sympathetic to those who couldn’t work because of the pandemic, and fully supported PPP, eviction freeze etc. it’s the incoming party that opposes all that (well except keeping PPP to help the bottom line, whoops can’t find my workers).

I am ALWAYS upset when a layoff happens, most especially when a profitable company lays off people to goose stock.

not really, USCIS celebrated as they replace US workers with cheap foreign labor. fire every other person.

Your average USCIS employee had nothing to do with these things.

I know USCIS workers and they were overjoyed when Biden was elected and have been pushing to expand immigration. They have expanded H1XXB processing.

Please. You don’t know anyone. Like PP said, go back to Russia.

Layoff =/= trimming the "fat"

young ones will go first. So called "fat" will most likely stay.

Bottom line is these layoffs will be massive and they will cause a depression the likes of which most of us have never seen.

OP my friends who work for the Government are very depressed, worried and concerned.

Elon said it best "hardship" yep get ready you vote this crap in.... And it's coming like a tornado and you won't be able to stop it and I personally hope all Republcians suffer.

No matter how you feel about potential fed layoffs, try to have at least an ounce of empathy. These are real human beings whose job put food on the table and a roof over the head of their families. Worry about losing your job is very stressful and I'm sure there are many people who are planning their kid's holiday around possible layoffs. Yes, there's waste in the government but our government is also part of a larger employment infrastructure that has a ripple effect across other sectors. It's bad karma to gloat over someone else's misfortune. Losing your job is nothing to joke about.

These are also people who made a trade off. Less money for job security and they're having the rug pulled out from under them for no real reason other than to be evil.

"fascists use bullying tactics often because they don't have more effective avenues. Musk can't fire people, and there is no need to give up just because he's taking out his psychodrama on strangers. But there's a larger lesson in this for all of us. MAGA is rife with gutless sadists, people who like to wage "war" at a distance, where they don't have to look their intended victims in the eye. That cowardice is a weakness and one that can be exploited — if their opponents meet it with courage."
