Wouldn’t it be the other way around? An American is a descendant of Diana and William?

The country owns them not the family.

I think she didn’t wake up, maybe they realized in the morning when they went to wake her they could tell, something was wrong. Since she seemed happy with the new PM this was a surprise,

Something was wrong yesterday when she couldn’t hold the meeting of the Privy Council to do something for Liz Truss - I think it was appoint her Lord Chancellor. She already couldn’t handle a zoom call.

Coronation will probably happen in a year.

What is a privy council?

Of course not. They do not announce the death immediately. There are a number of things that need to go into place before the announcement can be made. This way, when the news that the Queen has passed breaks, everything is in sync for King Charles.

Can you imagine if news broke and the broadcasters weren't already in black? The BBC website wasn't in black? The royal family webpage wasn't updated with its tribute? The notices not posted at the doors? PM had not made the appropriate speech for the news? All of this takes hours to prepare. Once the plan has been completed, announcement is made. So it looks seamless.

I think she was dead when they announced concern for her health this morning. Maybe far enough gone they didn’t bother with a hospital. Remember that in the past, she has been hospitalized so it’s not like they normally handle serious issues at home. People were hurrying but not rushing (e.g., all on the same plane) because she was already dead. They had clearly just found out when Camila cancelled the interview; remember Jenna was dining with Charles last night, so this wasn’t a slow decline thing (in the micro sense, obviously in the macro sense she had been declining slowly). Jenna knew and you could tell from the announcement; I wonder if Camila was literally on set when they found out, would be hard to hide.

I thought she died in the afternoon.

I can’t imagine Charles would know a tiara from a tadpole.

Then you don't know Charles at all.. lol. I mean, why should you, but he's extremely interested in jewelry and fashion.

How so?

NP. Doesn't sound weird to me because I felt like I've heard it before. Then I realized: it sounds like King Charles Spaniel

She will be referred to simply as Queen Camilla. Queen Consort is just her role and it means that she is married to the monarch, not the actual monarch. QE2 was Queen Regent which meant she was the actual monarch.

So why was Prince Phillip never King Phillip?

QE2 could have given him that title, but it was decided (by all the many advisors) not to do that because in such a patriarchal society, many people would have been confused that he was actually King Regent (the monarch) instead of King Consort.

That's not really true. It's that the title of King is "above" the title of Queen. So when you have a reigning Queen, you can't have a King (because the non-reigning person would then have a higher title). So Camilla will be Queen Camilla and Catherine will be Queen Catherine but Philip could not have been King Philip.

That he really loves jewelry and fashion? He's had some absolutely fabulous pieces made for Diana and Charles and rocks a pocket square like no one's business.

Please state your sources. I have never heard this "American blood" in Di or William or Harry
