Troublemakers unwanted at the local pool. |
| Pretty effective punishment and a good deterrent to others. I wish our HOA was like this. No one wants entitled little sh1ts spoiling the vibes of a community. Everyone cares about their property values. |
^^^ Looks like Velma from Scooby Doo is going to solve the case
|
Yeah! LOCK THEM UP! LOCK THEM UP! even the 4th grader
|
And this is why people despise HOAs. People get an entirely worthless position and they think get on a power trip. I will never live in a place that has HOAs. Archie Bunkers come out of the woodwork. |

I mean, kid vandalizes HOA property, kid is barred from other HOA property. Seems like natural consequences to me.
That said, 7 years seems excessive. I am curious about the disparity in sanctions - 1 year v. 7 years. There has to be a reason - I wonder if it has to do with the kid, or his family, or this incident, or prior incidents. I guess we'll never know. |
| 11 year olds are usually in grade 5. Kids turn 11 in grade 5. |
|
The kids are from two different families.
The father of one boy is named. The mother of the other boy is named. |
How would you enforce this? HOAs have little to no power to make people do stuff (except pay where it is in HOA documents) but it is much easier to exclude people from using community property. |
11 years old is usually 6th grade in Montgomery County. If the 11 year old is in 4th grade, there are lots of issues going on. |
This. What do you want them to do? Hire a separate community manager for a summer, probably at a cost of $20,000, just to watch those kids scrub toilets? |
Tell them to scrub the toilets. If they don't do it, then ban them from the pool. It's not that hard. |
Damn you sure are dense. Do you take everything literally? |
Who is enforcing and monitoring all this? Yes, actually, at a place like an HOA, enforcing everyday clean up for 12 weeks is tough. This is an HOA not a set of parents. Not the HOAs job to teach a lesson. |
