HOA pool ban for prior vandalism of HOA property

Anonymous
So the Russian teens running the pool are going to keep them out? Seems like having them have to clean up the bathrooms after hours would be better punishment.

Entirely possible. That’s not a move you make against a family you value as community members.

Yes, there should absolutely be consequences but the punishment is way over the top.

It’s a little free library people not an actual library. Pay replace it, sure, but we’re not taking thousands of dollars.

Sounds like some of you people want these kids banned for good. Teens, even good ones, can be idiots at times. It’s called growing up and learning from your actions.

If they were banned for 7 years until they're 18, this is definitely not the first instance of those particular boys being trouble makers. One of them has been swimming there since he was 4 - and I'm guessing the parents just let them spiral out of control with no consequences until they did something on video record that the HOA and rest of the community could use to ban them.

And you would be wrong.

You seem to have the inside track. You’re saying neither of these kids has ever been in trouble in the community before?

I think one of the parents found the thread.

Nope. I just know that the HOA has a history of acting like hard asses when it isn't necessary. They really don't know what they are doing, so I would be very skeptical about anything they say.

DP. You quite definitively stated pp was wrong about these kids having past offenses. So either you have inside knowledge of this situation, or you are making shit up because you have your own grudge against this HOA.

+1
Having them scrub the nasty toilets ALL summer is something they would never forget. Banning them for several years won't really accomplish anything except make the entire family resent the cows on the HOA board.

Really? Where the parents when these tweens were destroying a community asset? Surely they were taught right from wrong?

Latchkey kids, gramps.

Latchkey kids with no parental discipline or observation is a very 70s concept. No wonder they're destroying property.

This sounds like a post a parent of one of these awful kids would make. Knowing Fil well that your kid wouldn’t actually clean and then someone else would have to do it to avoid a public health risk.

Or move and give the whole neighborhood some relief?

Well you sound lovely.

If you don’t care what we think why are you posting here?

I hope you and your family have a great summer at the pool! Cause you’re not the vandal’s mom. I’m sure.

It’s clear that the HOA is trying to “encourage” them to move. It sounds like someone on the HOA is not enamored of this 11 year old at all.

The parents are also probably reviled in the community. Now everyone knows that these kids are banned from the pool. LOL
