Here you go. I recommend doing it on a computer so you can open the google spreadsheet and sort the prices and trims. https://www.odyclub.com/threads/2022-odyssey-prices-paid.363424/ |
| I’m getting massive pushback from dealer trying to get a Highlander XLE. One dealer slightly under MSRP but others not budging. Hoping I can work something out tomorrow. They are all talking about inventory shortages but I also thought Toyota is somewhat insulated from the issue. I may walk but I don’t have a ton of leverage, I need a new car in a few weeks and if they truly do run out I don’t want to buy something I don’t want. |

I am
Secretly happy I don’t have to haggle and won’t feel like a loser for not doing it. |
hmm... if no good deal near end of month then maybe there really is more demand than supply at the moment. are you willing to go to PA? many DC metro people i know got good deals from PA dealerships. |
Did you try Malloy in Winchester? |
There is plenty of inventory for the Highlander. I would call around to more dealers. Also, don't just ask for a discount, tell them what you want to pay. Dealerships are taking advantage of the common notion that there is an inventory shortage. Unless you tell them what you want to pay, they will think that you have no idea what is possible and will therefore just stick to MSRP or a mild discount. It looks like a 10% discount from MSRP should be possible for the Highlander XLE, so make that your offer and don't budge from it. Tell them you are ready to buy, right now, you are just calling the dealers to see who will sell you one at this price. Here's something to help build your confidence: https://www.toyota.com/deals-incentives/highlander Toyota would not be offering cash incentives if inventory was so tight that everything was going at MSRP. Good luck! |

Just bought a car this week that had a $4k markup. Over email, dealer said they will not remove it. I went to look at the car told them I would pay sticker price, no markup. They countered with a $2000 markup. I said no. I got into my car to leave, and the sales manager came running out and said they would remove the markup. I paid MSRP, which I was fine with.
Compared to several years ago when I bought a car, dealers now seem less inclined to play the email game. |
Yes, they have 20 in stock and no more coming until November. They’re MSRP less a $750 rebate. They "claim" those 20 will be sold by Tuesday |
You are 100% wrong on the current car market. You’re giving people bad information. |
That seems strange. We got an offer about 6% under MSRP plus tax, taxes and the destination and processing fees. |
Seeing as the rebate and destination are 5% of that, they really didn’t discount it. Destination is on the original sticker. Taking it off the original MSRP and adding it back later, isn’t a discount. |
*shrug*, I going to repeat what I said elsewhere. I'm not here to argue with anyone. I'm just posting deals that I see actually getting done. No doubt there are people who are paying MSRP for cars these days, I don't doubt that at all. It's also true that the percentage discounts I'm posting are based on actual recent sales. My advice is free, anyone can choose to ignore. |
What car was this, if you don't mind me asking? |
