With so many changes to the landscape in the region coupled with changes that did not happen because of Covid, there just seems to be a logjam of players trying out at different clubs. So every club is having to wait through more players declining/accepting players. |
MLS clubs snagging players from ASA. |
Goes both ways
|
ASA's back door is wide open and the front door is quiet. A lot of long time players bailing for MLS teams - Achilles, etc. There's no draw to Arlington any longer on the boys side, you can play ECNL lots of places. |
Four White offers, one Red. |
| Is there any room on ECNL girls for 2005? |
Great to hear, and thank you for the warm welcome! |
By HS, many don’t want to give up HS ball. If they are honor students they often don’t want the extra time constraints of MLs either. The goal is a good college (with or w/out soccer) not a crappy MLS career. |
| We have a lot more mls options near our house (boys) than ECNL ones. |
I don't know about the younger teams, but none of the kids from the older teams (i.e. long time players) are bailing, except the ones leaving for actual MLS clubs. |
Always. |
| It sounds like the 09s are way ahead of 07 and 08 in terms of issuing offers. |
Lol. Yeah. All the asa kids who are signing pro contracts. Can you name a few for us? |
Nobody said they were signing pro contracts. They're just moving to MLS youth academies. |
Got it. Thought you were implying they were going pro directly. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were staying put otherwise. Good teams and coaching. |
