Peer pressure to stay thin, or at least healthy looking. Very few obese women (although they exist, of course). And by peer-pressure, I mean both women and men expect you to look a certain way, even if they won't say anything to your face.
What helps? For one, most wealthy people live in safe, unpolluted neighborhoods where they can walk, bike, jog, etc., for exercise. Many own dogs that need to be taken out. Many own exercise equipment like Pelotons that can be used when the weather is bad. Income is sufficient to buy delicious, fresh foods at well-stocked grocery stores and farmers markets. Wealthy neighborhoods are not food deserts. Well-educated so that most meals are healthy and emphasize to their kids the need to consume fresh foods. (I wouldn't say that wealthy people don't get junk food; my kids and their classmates at their private school love Doritos, chips, and soda; but, they are all regularly consume hot, nicely prepared meals, fruits, and vegetables.) Finally, if there are psychologically-linked food issues, wealthy people can afford therapy and/or trainers. |
If you’re dining at a fine dining establishment, order a green salad as a first course, and fish as the second course. Don’t finish either. If you’re dining out for lunch you order a salad with lean protein. |
You make some good points, but food deserts are kind of a myth. https://news.uchicago.edu/story/food-deserts-not-blame-growing-nutrition-gap-between-rich-and-poor-study-finds I do agree about the access to safe & clean areas for exercise. |

If we're being honest a lot of high-powered professionals are on Adderall which has weight loss as one side effect.

Actually, if you read that study, it doesn’t deny that food deserts exists, it says that poor people choose junk food over healthy food. Poor people, according to the article, still need to travel farther than rich ones to hey to supermarkets. |
They don't mention how far wealthy people have to travel though. There is no language of "traveling further" in the article. Maybe it seems implied but there is no data on that. Perhaps the point is that food deserts being the *cause* of BMI differences, as the previous poster suggests, is the myth. It's more of an education issue. |
| I have one small meal before dinner, usually <300 calories. At dinner I have 50% of a serving of what my family is having and 50% of my plate as steamed or roasted vegetables or salad. I hit 15k steps per day, some of which is usually a run or spin, but mostly just a lot of walking. When I'm bored, I walk. When I'm stressed, I walk. When I feel like snacking, I walk. |

Stressing about money, work, kids, pension, college costs etc can lead to overeating unhealthy foods. I assume most rich women don’t have these worries.
I’m 53 and only weigh a few pounds more than I did in my early twenties. Although we’re not rich, we’re financially stable. To stay at a constant weight I don’t eat breakfast, don’t snack, don’t drink soda or juices, don’t eat fast or junk food, don’t eat out much, don’t drink much alcohol, and only really have one large meal a day. This is not a sacrifice because I don’t get very hungry. Most of my food is made from scratch, and I like to eat small quantities of very good quality food rather than large amounts of cheap and processed junk. I still eat pizza, cheese, good quality meat, organic where possible. |
You need to eat tastier foods. |
| I noticed the same thing as OP, and I think the reason is that rich woman married rich because they are very pretty to begin with, with a good diet it is very easy to stay fit. |
You can’t Just enjoy being slightly chubby while the kids are young, once they are able to entertain themselves (9yr+) hire a trainer and go pro |
Yes. Access to boutique medicine and scrips come more easily. |
| Hard to separate cause and effect here. The biggest thing is generational attitudes about food and exercise and it’s priority in life. You can have that as a rich or poor family. But like most else, it’s easier to make it a priority when you are financially stable and not working two jobs to get said food on the table. |
Definitely. They are beautiful to begin with. |
