I’m the same way. But I have ADHD so a lot of my diet is a mixture of inability to cook something for just myself so I either eat whatever we have that I can just eat (sunflower seeds, cookies, fruit, yogurt is not an uncommon lunch at home for me), or I don’t eat anything for lunch because nothing looks good and there is no way I’m cooking just for me. I eat pretty big dinners with dessert because we still have family dinners at home with the kids. Sometimes breakfast is scraps of what I’m making the kids for lunch, sometimes I get myself a pastry or a breakfast sandwich. I’m 118 at 5’6”. When the kids leave home, I am certain my diet will improve when I have time and energy to care for my own needs. Haha. |

I don't know what your definitions of "rich" and "thin" are, but I'll play. I'm definitely not DCUM rich, and I'm 5'9 and 124lb (just weighed myself this morning). 54 years old.
I think if one has always been thin, it is easy to maintain. I think a lot of it might be genetics, too. I eat what I want, when I want, but it is probably less than the average person. If I'm hungry I eat, if I'm not, I don't. If I want a 5 guys burger w/ fries I will eat it (jr size burger lol), but that would be my only meal for the day. Not for punishment, but because I wouldn't feel hungry. And something like that is probably a few times a year. Unless I'm traveling, I rarely eat out. I used to work-out A LOT- 45 minutes of cardio + 45 minutes of strength every day. But the past few years I've been doing more walking and yoga. I still do weights, but only 2-3 times a week now. But I still think they key is- eat when you are hungry, don't when you are not. Drink a lot of water. Exercise/stay active for health, not for weight loss. |
| I was a figure skater growing up and still have a lot of muscle mass from that. I’ve always been able to eat/drink what I want and stay skinny, but recently I’ve improved my nutrition because I was sick of the other effects of my diet. So, I do eat a lot of lean protein today, but my body composition is basically the same as before. I think genetics and my athletic training were bigger factors. |

Thin people just aren’t as hungry. My thin friends can skip breakfast and eat something small for lunch. I would be gnawing my arm off.
It’s different levels of hunger and how people manage them. |
I'm thin. I just don't eat. |
