It is hard to find. please check the "Financial Aid" page 2021-2022 Financial Aid Information - Travel & Academy Soccer |
| Go to BRYC instead--much cheaper |
Pp here, I completely agree. My kid is on a lower team (although not sixth team), it is the right place for his skill level and interest, and he loves it. Fortunately we can afford it, so we are happy to do it. |
Agree - my 09G is happy on lower level team and thankfully we can afford it. She was very frustrated in rec. |
I'm sure Oscar gets a huge say, perhaps even the only say, in who coaches the academy teams. But irrespective of who brought him on board it's a great move for Arlington and really good news for the 2008 and 2009 teams that he will be coaching. |
Why? Money is not an issue for me, and my kid wants to play. I'd prefer for him to be out getting exercise with friends vs. sitting at home on video games. His other sport is only twice a week, so happy to have him out playing soccer on the sixth team other days. If he wants to do something different in the future, that's fine too. |
Agreed. To the extent players were thinking of playing at other rivals, this could tip the balance. You really have to wonder why other clubs have simply kept the same coach for the past three or four years and others have not yet announced their slate. It’s all over the place. We have been happy with our club but are not too sure about next year given lack of info about coach and who may remain or join the roster. Life goes on either way. |
I think we’re in agreement here. Regardless of where a team ranks, either within their club or in their league, if the kids are getting something out of it, what is there to criticize about a parent’s decision to pay for it? |
So I can spend 40 minutes in traffic each way for every practice and home game rather than 20 or less? No thanks. I like having those extra hours every week for other things. |
Yep, I am sure you are curing cancer with all that extra time. Lol. The self-importance of people and their little pockets of time never cease to amaze. |
Wonderful response! +100000 |
Why on earth does it matter what he's doing with his extra time? He has simply noted that he will save about 80 hours of drive time over the course of a year, and that that is worth more to him than the difference in price. So he's prepared to pay $20 a hour for free time. I don't see why that implies self importance, or why it matters whether he cures cancer or relaxes in his back yard for that time. If you prefer to drive and save the $20 per hour then that too is your choice and implies nothing about self importance. The only thing that does perhaps indicate a misplaced sense of self-importance is your willingness to criticize someone else for his decision which is entirely his business. |
Hey look BW has CJ & AF out here recruiting finally too little too late boys. |
Who said I’m curing cancer? Those extra hours would come at the expense of spending time together with the whole family, reading a book, or a whole bunch of other things I like doing more than sitting in traffic. Just to save a few hundred dollars a year that we can afford to spend? No thanks. |
