So I can spend 40 minutes in traffic each way for every practice and home game rather than 20 or less? No thanks. I like having those extra hours every week for other things.

Yep, I am sure you are curing cancer with all that extra time. Lol. The self-importance of people and their little pockets of time never cease to amaze.

Who said I’m curing cancer? Those extra hours would come at the expense of spending time together with the whole family, reading a book, or a whole bunch of other things I like doing more than sitting in traffic. Just to save a few hundred dollars a year that we can afford to spend? No thanks.

Rotfl. Yes, I know you’re definitely not curing cancer or reading another 20 minutes on top of the hours I am sure you are logging with plato’s republic. Cmon get over yourself. Just think of all that precious time you could have saved by not coming on these boards, much less replying to me!

You’re funny. I won’t pretend for a moment that I’m doing anything more with that time than reading a cheap novel or playing a board game with my kids. The point is it’s my time to use as I wish, and I wish to not spend it sitting in the car. As for posting here now, I’m sitting at the field waiting for my kid’s practice to end so we can drive the 10 minutes home for dinner.

You seem very threatened by someone else’s decision to play for Arlington rather than BRYC. Why is that?

My prediction - 2008 boys finish top 5 next year.

The coach is great but why do you think it would or could manifest itself in so short a time? Or that results will necessarily tell you how much better the kids will be learning? I think he probably needs some different players to actually play the right way. I would be optimistic as well, but also patient.

A member of BRYC ECNL 08B was practicing with ARL 08B Red tonight. So yeah, maybe BRYC will have some openings.

That’s cute. One Arlington player parent talking about another Arlington player both of whom were not developed adequately at Arlington U9- on and since replaced on academy team. Congrats on exposing yourself while trying to troll another club.

DP. My, that was incoherent.

Why the bashing on other clubs here? Arlington parents are a class act for sure.

Who is bashing another club? Are you referring to the single response above about some BRYC player trying out for Arlington, responding to a BRYC parent who criticized Arlington and then personally attacked an Arlington parent for saying they preferred to stay at Arlington despite the cost (which I don't think is actually any less at BRYC) because of the proximity?

I’m talking about the cocky “we are stealing all of McLeans’ coaches” posts - but whatever. I guess that was full of niceness.

There was no criticism of McLean in those posts, simply a discussion of coaches that moved to Arlington. If you take that as some offensive commentary on McLean, I don't know what to tell you -- sorry it hurt your feeling that coaches decided to leave your club.

There were, however, these gems sprinkled in there:

"I see Arlington is still trying to pretend that there's an "Academy" that they're part of. Give it up, bubbas."

"First year in ECNL, Arlington will probably struggle and this coaching slate is going to look a lot different next year."

"What kind of parent pays for their kid to be on the 6th team in an age group?"

Various reasons:

1. Great coaching usually shows up in results before too long. It's not immediate - but it doesn't take a whole year.
2. He may well ideally need one or two more players (I don't know since I have not seen the 2008s play that much), but I'm not suggesting that he wins the league, just that he moves from 11th to 5th.
3. It wouldn't surprise me if one or two good players follow him as well. That often happens when a good coach moves.
4. It's only a prediction - I may well be wrong.
