Same coach as this year. Este Maldonado.

FYI - SYC 2007s are at the bottom of MLS Next this season.

Oh good grief so what. It is super competitive and the club will finally have the ability to recruit more broadly. They will take some kids from ecnl rosters and will do well.

What, the SYC kids are not good enough?

I am sure they are better than most, but every competitive club will examine its roster every fall, precisely because a league like this is very competitive. Only somebody at a country club league thinks the roster is protected.

If you're posting "what kids not good enough" and "last place in MLS", you're gonna have to post what age group/club your DC is in so we can make fun of you

SYC is actually hosting some MLS next tryouts at McLean field.

No idea why he was given this. He's a horrible coach.

May not be a "given" since clubs (outside of the original teams announced when first formed) can pay to join.

I'm sure SYC is regretting the alliance now that they got all the MLS Next age groups. I see some SYC second tier players joining VA Union, but very minimal cause why pay $1000 more to play ECNL. Lots of B Team players get recruited to college all the time. I know of a few boys that chose to play B team cause not as cut throat and less pressure to perform, but are A team level. Plus, you don't have to travel as much as the A team does in ECNL or MLS Next...

Alexandria also has all ages for mls next, which you can see in their link to tryout registration. Anybody know if anybody else like Achilles got all ages? I know Bethesda and Armour already have them.

The 08B Bethesda MLS Next is the team to beat at the moment. Some crazy talent and coaching on that team though some will probably go to DCU for next year.

MYC is for sure regretting it but still, ECNL and MLS Next Club Fees are both $2500, not including travel/team fees... so who knows!

So will the top boys join ECNL or MLSNext?

MLS next.

Basically this alliance really didn't do anything other than bring B team SYC players on the MYS ECNL teams.

SYC MLS Next players will stay MLS Next and according to regulations cannot play anywhere else.

VA Union players, SYC B Team, MYS B Team can be guest players in SYC MLS Next games.

SYC B Team and MYS B Team players can be guest players on SYC MLS Next and/or VA Union. MLS Next has cap on how many guest players (13) can be in the guest player status.

MLS next.

Not necessarily, since you can't play High School soccer while in MLSNext it might be a deal breaker for some of the top players. At least half of the older players play High School.

And MLS Next might just be the next DA...only time will tell.
