McLean Premier Cup

JA isn't bringing his teams because they stink. He will do what he always does- enter his team in low brackets of some further away tournaments so he can beat up on teams that are rec level. As far as Clyde- he is now the least desired coach for older kids over there. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy

Sockpuppet. Stirring up trouble with lies. No one comong to ASA. Your 07s can stay with your dysfunctional team of psycho club hoppers.

The post doesn’t mention Arlington specifically. Ruh-roh, Arlington is the destination club for every good player wanting to move? Poor thing.

And I've seen players from other clubs practicing with McLean over the past week....

JA and CW are not taking any of their teams. No girls McLean teams from U10-U14 are going. Not sure the reason but the parents are unhappy

Can a McLean parent shed some light on this? If the parents are upset about this I have to believe at least one of them asked for an explanation as to why they weren’t going

We were told it was in protest over the club keeping the registration money from the previous year. I know in the summer they were upset that teams were being forced to play in the August make-up tournament if they wanted their money to roll over. Not sure what exactly happened as I saw on here that teams were given discounts to play this year. Maybe they were so upset from the summer shenanigans and had already made their threats to the tournament that they couldn't back down? We have been told that there will be scrimmages this weekend as an alternative but not sure who they will be scrimmaging since all the teams will be at Jeff Cup!

Spewing lies. Any McLean boys or girls teams would want to have CW as their coach

Why is Clyde the "least desired coach for older kids?" What makes you say that?

CW, NM, and BL have a very cohesive style of working together at McLean

Just a feeling I get. I think NM and BL are preferable to many. Plus, they don't sit in the parking lot puffing away before practice

That or jealousy. Those are the three best field players on that team. It’s not even close.

wow, defenders and forwards can't cut it over the midfield. What prejudice .... avoiding you guys.

mclean 07 sounds like a real $hitshow with parents posting this stuff about the non-midfielders. real brave keyboard jockeys ...

Arlington 07 will struggle in ECNL if that's the best it can do. And that's after giving themselves the best schedule in the bracket (1 game Friday, 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday), while the rest played 2 games Saturday late afternoon/early evening and another on Sunday. At least McLean 07 played up an age group in the McLean Cup, as did Loudoun 07 in the Loudoun Showcase.

Coppermine 07 won the half bracket with McLean 07, who didn’t even make the final. That’s an embarrassment

Herndon and Beach are arguably the two top CCL teams in that age group, both having a W7L0D1 record. I am not an expert on the 07 girls team landscape, but in my long multi-kid experience with northern virginia soccer - while I would agree that there is a clear difference between the average CCL team and the average ECNL team, the top CCL teams are usually competitive with ECNL teams (and DA teams on the boys side).

Being from McLean, I know I have seen this person post this same stuff before, even back before the 07 ECNL team had its current makeup of forwards, defenders, midfielders, and keeper. Trust me, the person is so infatuated with their DD that they have been posting this stuff here for at least 2 years now. Here is the same person back on March 17, 2019 in another thread arguing again about how great the 07 midfield is: "McLean has two midfielders who’d start on every 07 team in the DMV. If I were recruiting for another team next year, they’d be the first two I’d call." So, it is pretty easy to go back and figure out who this loser is. And this is a parent! Apparently, no group of surrounding teammates is special enough for their DD and DD's friend.

I think there used to be more of a gap. Most of these 07 and younger teams have had a minimal in-flow of players (a few to each), so they are essentially no different from the CCL/NPL teams at U11, etc.

You tell me puppet? If not smitten by ASA, where does your little 07 muti-sport 'star' plan to bail to?

There was a boy playing on a girls U13 team this past weekend. I've seen several girls playing on boys teams but I've seen a boy play on a girl's team. It was super obvious and known to the coaches and referees but the game was played as usual. Now I guess it is possible that this boy was transitioning or something like that. Maybe he identified as female. He had a name that can be boy or girl. Any team managers or coaches out there know the rules for this or had this happen to their team or on their team? I'm curious as to how it's decided at what stage you can play or whatever or how it works. Just curious Thanks in advance.
