McLean Premier Cup

Players have player cards that must be submitted in order to provide proof of age and gender. As PP mentioned, the score was only high against one team so it's likely that the team parent complaining just needs to come to the realization that their team is not as good or just had a bad day. Stop judging players based on their looks.

Thank you. As the parent of a gender nonconforming athlete, I appreciate your words and hope people think about this and gain perspective.

Yeah, I mean, I saw the player and noted that she looked boy-ish, admittedly wondered/assumed she was transitioning/non-conforming etc, and shrugged. If I'm being totally honest, I might have thought about it more if she was dominating the game, but I just assumed it was all kosher. Low-level tournament, second division. Certainly didn't feel like a spot where a club would try something hinky. Look, I think we are all still sort of new to understanding gender identity issues and learning as we go.

I was the one who started this back on 3/9/2021 16:25. If you remember, I stated...everyone knew. The coaches, refs, and field marshal. Noone said it was cheating or anything. The game was played. Noone complained...not even the losing team or parents or anyone.. Everyone moved on. This is what I asked in my post..."Any team managers or coaches out there know the rules for this or had this happen to their team or on their team? I'm curious as to how it's decided at what stage you can play or whatever or how it works. Just curious Thanks in advance." I'm just looking for the tournament rules or league rules that govern this as I think it could be complicated. I'm was never judging.

Thank you DCUM for keeping this on topic!

Although the 07s are replete with problems and people are alleging the 'stars' are leaving, what is the consensus on overall performance of the club in the other age groups? On par with past performance?

The odd years are good-03, 05 and 07 that is. Even years not so much...it will be interesting to see what happens after this year to see if McLean can maintain any powerhouse standing, esp with Arlington next door having ECNL.

McLean 04s will compete next year. But BRYC (if it doesn’t lose players currently playing on the 03 team) should be strongest u19 NOVA team, followed closely by ARL, McLean and VDA (all grouped closely together), then Loudoun slightly behind. Again that is if players at oldest ages don’t move clubs. McLean 06s should continue to get stronger next year and look more like a typical strong older McLean team.

The keeper, centerbacks, and striker are very talented. CW likes them and is not retiring.

No 07 family will stay for JA. His trail of tears is too well known.
