| Doesn't sound like that will be the case. Looks like its still a 6 week spring ISL season starting in mid March |
|
Spring season for ISL won’t start until April at the earliest. VA and MD schools ISL are going to play fall sports first. Yet again- DC is creating a disadvantage for these athletes that has nothing to do with science. St James had lacrosse, soccer, basketball hockey and I’m sure other leagues Indoors all winter and ZERO cases of Covid from sports held there. Time to pressure DC to let them play!
|
| No cases. Guess again. |
|
| Almost seems like these schools, by and large, just don't want to do any form of sports at all. Just move the kids through the revolving door of graduation like the 20s and be done with the 21s. |
| I don't get that impression based on the Zoom calls and emails from coaches at my DD's WCAC school. The reality is one positive Covid case requires most of the team or the entire team to test and quarantine for 2 weeks. Losing multiple players for multiple weeks would have a significant impact on the season. Also, parents would be understandly upset if cases at school increased because of athletics. The PP that suggested there haven't been positive cases is naive. Some girls had to quarantine after 1-2 of the travel tournaments and after Fall Brawl. My sense is schools are trying to allow the kids to play safely and minimize the risk as much as possible. |
| understandably. |
ISL did not totally cancel fall sports. They are practicing beginning next week then having a few games over spring break (though at our school, all players are not on campus at the same time, so I don't see how they're going to field real varsity teams). Sorry to lax parent who thinks that everyone shouldn't get to play their sports competitively just because lacrosse players missed a season. Basically, the fall players ostensibly missed a season--while the rest of the country had their fall seasons (unlike last spring, when the entire world stopped), so please stop acting like only lacrosse players missed out. |

2019 - Fall Sports happened
2019 - Winter Sports except playoffs happened 2020 - Spring sports didn't happened 2020-21 school year - fall sports POSTPONED until spring of 2021, but still playing limited # of matches 2020-21 school year - winter sports canceled but moved to indoor nonconference matches and into spring 2021 2020-21 school year - no word on spring league except that at max it will be 6 weeks max So remind which season got messed up here? I get there is a pandemic and all, but since this is a lax message board with presumably like-minded parents and kids, but to suggest that spring is getting even close to an even shake is just laughable. Also, setting aside the health and mental benefits of this to the kids, any one hoping to get committed in this environment like the 22s and 23s are getting the absolute short-end of the stick. Again, not questioning the importance of focusing on the pandemic, but if we are going to follow the science or at least say we are, can we at least acknowledge that this is the least impacted age group and the healthiest of the healthy among us. So sure, maybe no fans, etc, but let the kids play. This is just crazy and bordering on cruel. |
Agree 100% There should be no attempt to recreate a Fall 2020 sports season. There was a full Fall sports season in 2019 so they can miss one season, the 2020 season. The only sport season that missed out last year was Spring so Spring sports should get a full 2021 season. It’s the ONLY fair way to handle high school sports. |

Back to the topic...
SR SSSAS Visi GC BI PVI SJC Bullis |
| Full field or indoor? Indoor I agree, but full field I don't think SR has the depth to run with SSSAS. Also I think BI is better full field too. Just not sure if thats not around the edges or overall. |
|
Again with the Bullis? Lay off the crack pipe.
Also doubt PVI or SJC belong on this list. |
| Well then...who would you put above PVI and SJC and don't say a public? |
| I agree SJC shouldn't be on the list , but don't sleep on PVI because they've got a talented sophmore crew. This may not be their year, but they may surprise a few teams. |
