It’s time for the House to start taking action. Refuse to fund literally any single government obligation unless and until Trump and all the f**king shitf*Ck republicans stop this nonsense.
Y’all want to take it to the brink? Let’s go |
McConnell is NOT going to want this. Can you imagine Pelosi’s immediate partisan attacks as President in this situation? There’s going to be so many people from Trump’s administration being prosecuted. Biden would be a lot gentler in hopes of coming together. Pelosi would have no interest in coming together after an attempted steal and the Senate refusing to accept the will of the people. The President has zero say in the way the electoral college works. For all it’s flaws, this is definitely a big plus. The system Republicans claimed they loved for the last four years could grind to a halt and install Pelosi as President. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/11/06/state-legislatures-electoral-college-steal/ Pence might try to continue with the vote, but the House could then refuse to participate in the joint session any further, which would shut down the counting. While the stalemate persisted, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) could claim the right to serve as acting president starting on Jan. 20 for as long as Senate Republicans fail to recognize Biden’s status as president-elect based on the popular vote in the relevant states. |
I'm not a Pelosi Fan and the only reason I like her sometimes is because the devil incarnate Mcconnell is there, and someone nerds to counter him. She also knows how to push Trump's buttons. Part of me wants the situation above to happen. |
This could certainly happen re Pelosi. Until Trump sends his DOJ and DHS troops to interrupt the proceedings, when Pence will simply declare Trump to have been re-elected. And that’s what they will do, while they wait for the Supreme Republican Court to agree with Trump and Pence, which that entity will do. This is already done. |
I think they’re playing all angles right now. Hoping something will work and unsure just how far they will go. Replacing Esper got my attention. |
Does that article say that Pilger had been illegally ordered to falsely prosecute pretend... That's a very loaded summary you give. Doesn't seem accurate. Barr is a nightmare, but this is likely to go nowhere. https://www.thedailybeast.com/team-trump-shts-on-barrs-bogus-voter-fraud-crusade?fbclid=IwAR1w4PMaDNBHHAGhbsFmVu5jM6tv4a_t0RRmit0s3gWLbFruKt9ydSvacug |
Don't forget, the CR runs out in four weeks. |
Pence cannot just appoint Trump to a second term. The electoral college has to have its votes read per the Constitution. Federal troops aren’t going to attack Congress. Let’s be clear here. We are either going to have a President Biden or a President Pelosi. No Republican wants President Pelosi so they’ll allow Trump to play these games a little longer then tell him it’s over. Biden will be the next President. |
No, it’s not. |
No chance Trump cares about that. He’s going to be pouting into his chocolate cake. No chance he’s interested in keeping the government running. The man only cares about himself. |
I didn't even think about this. Holy carp. |
To think, this exaggerated and dramatic GOP response of treason is in response to the color of a person’s skin in authority. That is the shame. |
Pence cannot do so lawfully. But that is not stopping him. The official opinions of OLC are being drafted now. |
What are you talking about? |
