Why are they doing this? Because they expect that he can play kingmaker in the days ahead. His sons explicitly called on possible 2024 candidates to stay loyal to Trump, or else.

There's no way, but make no mistake that Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, etc. are all in on Trumpism. They'll be calling this election stolen until the end of time. You are witnessing a new right-wing movement.

Giuliani is just a loon. No idea what his deal is. I think Trump keeps him around because he feels sorry for him.

McConnell and Barr are playing it close to the vest, but both will eventually acknowledge that Biden is going to be the next President and say there isn't any reason to fight on. I don't think they will necessarily say Biden's win was the result of a free and fair election, but they aren't going to throw "fraud" bombs.

All these folks want one thing - power. And they'll take the path they think is most likely to reward them at the end of the day. Although McConnell probably ought to pray for his health, based on his bruising and looking like heL! last month.

Don't wait for the GOP to come down on Trump; they won't. The longer this goes on without a decisive call and a definitive declaration that Biden / Harris won (which they most definitely did), the more perilous this becomes.

Trump is a cornered animal, as are his kids. Short of catching a plane to exile to avoid charges from SDNY, they are going to fight tooth and nail to win. Winning gives them coverage.

As another poster suggested, if they can position themselves as 2024 candidates, they also win an immunity of sorts.

Regardless, what we've seen time and time again is that given enough time, the GOP is always going to circle their wagons around their own and then attack, attack, attack their opposition.
