If it’s outside, why bother with futsal - shouldn’t the kids just play soccer? If it’s OK to be on an outside court it’s OK to be on a pitch. Futsal only exists because access to playing areas was extremely limited in densely populated/urban areas (nothing like around here). Any of those poor favela kids would dump futsal in a heartbeat to get on a pitch. Futsal to soccer is kind of like roller hockey to ice hockey. It can be fun when you can’t access facilities, but it is no substitute. |
Actually, Alexandria’s ED gets financial gain. Over the years he has gotten a percentage of the revenues from the futsal program. I guess this is why they tell the kids and parents that this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. |
Well it might be one of the reasons. Futsal is good training for soccer though - so he is at least telling the truth for financial gain, which is better than telling lies for financial gain like politicians and Wall St. do. |
LOL. This is unintentional comedy gold. Every sentence. If by chance this was intentional humor, brilliantly done sir. |
I can see you are off your meds again. Please take care of yourself and return to socially distanced therapy, please, so the rest of us don't have to put up with your obsession and envy. |

I guess it’s too much to ask for some honesty among clubs. I wonder if Alexandria city council knows they approved the futsal court conversions for a private individual’s benefit. Seems like public monies should go to something other than enriching a single individual. |
Are you that stupid that you think Alexandria Soccer just marched onto tired old tennis courts. Cleaned them up. Lined them out and installed goals. Then started league play and ... How about this is what actually happened. Alexandria Soccer came up with the idea to repurpose tired old unused tennis courts throughout the community. Alexandria City supported the effort and with joint support some additional funding they did so. The local community kids have benefitted tremendously as now you can see the space being used daily instead of overgrown with weeds and broken down tennis nets. By the way, Alexandria Soccer doesnt use the outdoor courts for Futsal league play. They use indoor facilities throughout the area. Before you go claiming I am Tommy Park or some other ALexandria Soccer higher up, I'm not. Just a parent that has a kid that has grown with the club and the sport. I've seen them develop the courts and grow the program. At no time did revenue get generated from the repurposed courts. Occasionally practices are held on some of them. Once the weather turns it all goes inside. I was starting to get concerned that no one had mentioned Tommy Park lately and his salary. So along with his high salary this poster is now claiming he is lining his pockets with public monies. |
relax Tommy. Its just a message board. |
Look, if Viagra’s not working, give Cialis a shot and you get rid of your own ED, little man. |
Oh, the futsal coach is on the forum. Is that you Gus? Anyhow, I played soccer for 40 yrs, but yeah, I know nothing. My point is that if a kid plays year round travel already in a structured league, they need some free play time. I did it when I was a kid. Messi did it. Maradona did it. Pete did it. But, hey let’s listen to this clown who just wants to take your money. |
| Pele, not Pete. Friggin auto spell correct. |
This is the best post of the day This fool just validated his genius by saying he has played soccer for 40 years and then put himself in the same sentence as Messi, Maradonna, Pete (ooops Pele) You just lost any shred of credibility you thought you had. Let me guess you played soccer in high school. You played club soccer in college, You played league play at the "Y". Add it all up and you have 40 years of experience. Very impressive and I see how that can make you feel like you are knowledgeable about Futsal. Makes total sense. Thanks for sharing, so insightful |
Not comparing myself to the great ones, but nice assumption. I just know I benefited from free play and that those great ones have been quoted as saying the same. If you must know. I played college (not club). No interest in pro and would not have made much money. So I got a real job. And yes I like the game and played as an adult (outdoor, indoor, futsal both leagues and pickup). What did you play? Be honest now. Now Gus, if it’s you I know you played poor man’s pro. Back to my point ... There are tons of articles on free play and it’s benefits for creativity and confidence. Are you disputing that? |
| Due to Covid will futsal happen, indoor contact |
