| I've been pretty open with my son's training throughout this entire time...I mean since March. Started getting into small groups in May and went full on in June. No problem with leagues, training, tournaments, etc....but for some reason, I just don't want to do indoor whether its futsal or indoor soccer. I think their is just a different level of risk being indoors especially during winter when the cold and flu will be around and trying to differentiate between the viruses will be complicated. I certainly would do outdoor futsal or small sided stuff on turf. Just my thoughts. |
+1 and my son has asked me EVERY DAY lately can he play futsal. |
Thanks! Does anyone know Futsal America. I think it is girls only? |

I've known Gus as my kid played for his "Soccer the Brazilian Way" at U9, she is now U17. He has been with club after club after club. Are you saying he jumps from club to club and magically (invariably as you put it) his teams are much better simply due to his arrival and one year of training.
As was pointed out, he is rarely there. Id argue differently then you. Nothing against him. He is a fine coach but magician I think not. It is all about the money so just know if he trains your kid he wont be around long |
This made me laugh. Why do you think there is any need to differentiate between the viruses? |
Yes They play in the Alexandria league and I've seen them elsewhere at some tournaments. I have no opinion of their style of play or the club itself but they do put forth teams and compete locally and regionally |
I posted the questions on thoughts on doing futsal. We are in the same boat regarding the trainings outdoor etc. I wont lie we were all in to start futsal indoors but after my convo with the other parents and other postings it did make me pause to rethink the safety. I also watched a youtube video of outdoor vs indoor spread...didnt make indoor seem very safe. Not sure how indoor ventilation systems would come into play. |
Well do you think parents should take them to training if they have a cold? What if they had the flu and are feeling better? How do you know if it was the regular flu or Covid. If they had a cold, should they quarantine for two weeks? What about the regular flu? Parents are going to be making judgement calls on all of this. |
Surely you jest. There is a pandemic going on. Read up on it. Among other things, COVID requires you to quarantine. Unless you want to kill other people. |
this place was a cesspool before the pandemic. |
I couldn't agree more. |
I just read about indoor sports being superspreaders—-a youth hockey game in Tampa. One player infected 15. I think about how humid and closed in the Futsal gyms are and the packed sidelines. Yikes |
I really hope more places do outdoor soccer. |
I havent seen it in action however they claim they have new covid safe regulations. I suspect they would have to close if there are any infections. Face masks are required unless you are actively playing. |
|
Bethesda is doing outdoor futsal.
Do you all think it will be too cold Dec-March to play? DS ulittle says he wants to play and I do not want to do indoor. How do we even layer for this? |
