If only the GOP wasn’t obsessed with trying to stop us all from voting, we wouldn’t have to schedule a four hour block to exercise our right to damn vote.

+1

How is this Friday different from a Tuesday in 6 weeks?

No. My adult son lost his job due to COVID-19. Being only 19 and part time he did not receive unemployment pay. He still had to eat and pay rent. Guess who he's voting out? A good leader keeps youth occupied. Trump completely failed. Why should he get a redo?

Some twitter wag said we don’t need exit polls - just count the masks.

That's a good idea. I'll be mask watching the early voter lines now until October.

Mask watching the early voting lines?

People like to do those videos of walking the entire line of voters; I think PP means just counting how many people are masked and how many are not.

Solid blue? Maybe in NOVA. There’s an entire state out there that is not “solid blue.”

Not how it works. Democrats win wherever more people live.

It’s not compulsory, fellow DCUMer!. I was just explaining what I think she meant.

Do I need to explain statewide elections to you?

No, snotty - you don’t. Of course I know VA will probably go to Biden, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a huge percentage who vote for Trump. I always find it interesting to see the exact counts for each candidate. The statement “VA is solid blue of course” completely dismisses all of the red voters.

Might want to show her the NY Times map of precinct by precinct voting for 2016. Those aren't Trump voters.

Interesting to actually see how many red areas there are across the country.

There aren't many people there, comparatively.

You don't want them to be dismissed? End the Electoral College.

The EC is enshrined in our Constitution - you realize that, right?

So was the Three-Fifths Compromise.
