Fastest Covid test turnaround (Maine requires testing)

If you must, go to a grocery store when it’s not crowded and wear a mask (obviously). Don’t go to restaurants. Don’t go to knick knack stores.

That’s not quarantining.

Check the quarantine rules of the individual state. In Maine, you're definitely allowed to get food delivered, curbside takeout is a little less clear. You're also allowed to do outdoor activities while quarantining in Maine, if you're not coming in close contact with others.

Just called McLean...$125 per test if they are for travel or education. Insurance will only cover them if medically required.

You are correct that going into a grocery store violates the Maine quarantine. But there's no enforcement, and this activity does not actually put anyone at risk. Dining inside a restaurant does. Leisurely browsing shops is not necessary.

Maine needs tourist dollars.

PP what was the price for this? I thought they only offered rapid tests if you had symptoms?

One thought is to get the rapid test in Mass. on the way up. CareWell Urgent Care does them with no appointment and no doctor order and has multiple locations - I think the rapid test is $160 (not covered by insurance).

Moco has a bunch of free testing sites.

If you can wait 10-14 days for results...

Most free tests require you to be ill...and in need of a vacation does not count! I think some states will provide free testing to anyone (like NY) but not here.

You can get a drive through RAPID test at York, Maine hospital for $25. You need an appointment. The next couple of weeks appear to already be booked. They're going to be adding more RAPID tests in Ellsworth and Bar Harbor, hopefully in August.

Old Dominion Urgent Care has the rapid test. Results in 15 minutes. The doctor said the test is about 80% accurate. If you aren't feeling sick and just need a negative test to travel, I'd say that is accurate enough. It is expensive though - $275.

Are minors definitely exempted from Covid testing requirements to enter Maine and avoid 14 day quarantine?

Took me 4 days to get mine in early July. Assume the backlog is even worse now.

Where did you test, if you don't mind sharing?
