I just wanted to say that I've missed you Eye Candy lady.
I don't want to hijack this thread but what are some interesting things that you've seen in people's master closets? I've seen stackable washer dryers. I've seen closet islands. I'm curious to know what else is out there? |
I would love to see kitchens with calacatta slab backsplash to height of ceiling. One day I’ll make it happen. |
Thank you! Love the dark green ... and just as helpful to see, do NOT love the gray. (And so nice to see you posting again!) |
She has another thread for that. This is all kitchens. ![]() |
Hi Eye Candy,
Great to see this thread again. Have you come across any shades of blue stone counter tops? |
So just a question and this might come off as odd. Do you mean countertops that are blue? Because as I started my searching, I found that there is a kind of wood that is called "bluestone." I'm not good at identifying wood species...just be forewarned! |
I love 😻 your threads, op! |
Just in case, I'm going to share some blue countertops...
A little gray/blue ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Wow I thought the last two were the same kitchen but they just happen to have cabinets the same color! |
Just blue countertops, granite etc. That marble one is stunning! Thank you! |
Here is a request:
We are about to renovate a tiny beach cottage in New England. It has one large kitchen/living/dining room. My DH wants a mid-century modern look. We will have wood floors, but nothing else has been planned. So, modern but not too contemporary, not too large center island, relatively small, look won’t compete with water views. Any ideas? I love your eye. |
Eye Candy- I am seeing green cabinets (from Kelly darker) on the design sites. Does that mean lighter blue and grey will be "dated." |
Oh, this is different! Kitchens that work for an MCM space. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I'm sure there will be a point when we can look at a kitchen with grey or light blue shaker shaker cabinets and know roughly when the install happened. ![]() I feel like we see cycles where a style/color/trend emerges among professional designers, then gets picked up by design-savvy homeowners (like people here!), then moves into the blogger/influencer world, and lastly into the mass market. So while a lot of people in this forum probably stopping decorating with grey years ago, there are still people loving their grey kitchens (and the new construction builders are still installing them in tract homes). I don't think the Ryan Homes, KHov, or Pulte type builders are doing light blue yet, but perhaps that's next. But, really, if someone loves light blue, I don't think they should feel any shame in using a color that makes them happy in their kitchen! |
Gosh I love your posts thanks for taking the time to do these I know it’s a headache to just add imgs in the forum lol.
You helped a lot with our inspiration in the other thread so here goes: looking for a diagonal galley kitchen that we’d like to keep white and minimalist modern (no shaker cabinets) I guess something that feels a bit tight or weirdly shaped but still feels modern. And it’s so funny we’re totally in the planning phase for this and are wondering what type of countertop or appliances. |
