Husband wants a new Jeep "pickup", is this ugly or is it just me?

I think if you're into this "look" the Ford Raptor is the class leader.

Yep, that's ugly alright.

They're so ugly. I can't figure out who is buying them. It's like someone goes to the Jeep dealer to buy a Wrangler and the dealer makes them an offer on the bastardized pickup truck that the buyer can't refuse.

My husband wanted one and I asked him if it came with a Trump 2020 sticker. He ended up getting a Wrangler.

It's an abomination. The next coming of the El Camino.

My husband has the four door JEEP Wrangler Sahara in black. He loves it. I even love it. It isn't great for long distance driving, but great for running around. So we both like the JEEP look, but sorry, I think the "pick up truck" version looks odd. DH's actually looks a bit like the Mercedes G class, for a fraction of the price.

The Raptor and the Gladiator aren’t in the same class. They have vastly different designs and intended uses.

The Raptor is for high speeds on dirt roads, sand, and other smooth, open terrain.

The Gladiator is for low speed crawling on very rocky trails and other extremely technical terrain.

The would both be equally horrible at doing the other vehicle’s mission. Comparing the two of them is like comparing a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. However both are very, very well designed for their intended purposes. But they definitely are NOT in the same class. At least not to anyone who understands the slightest thing about vehicle design.

There aren't huge deals with Wrangles or Gladiators except maybe a rare one that the dealer wants to get rid of.

Gladiator is also for carrying things. T

Not sure if anyone has said this but if your husband is planning to tow a trailer/camper with the Jeep truck, tell him to watch this first:

I'm a jeep guy and will be in the market for another one very soon. I really wanted to like the Gladiator but didn't. It looks odd and I didn't like the way it felt when driving it. The only positive is that you could throw the doors in the back of the truck bed.

So, it looks like I'll be getting another Wrangler.

Pretty hard to take the top and doors off of a Raptor.
